That's true in many cases, although generally the biggest losers end up on factory boats (processors), not fishing boats. I got terrible grades in high school and eventually dropped out. I got my GED in the Navy, then went fishing and used that money to get an AAS (3.98 GPA), then used that to get a BS (3.79 GPA). Fishing was good for me at the time. It gave me some great memories and opportunities, taught me what real work is (and how much work can actually suck), and put me on path toward success.
