Who the HELL let Ralph Lauren get their hands on this?

Recommended Posts

I don't know the detail, but it probably involves a rather substantial donation of gear to all the US Olympic athletes. I'd probably cut them a little slack considering the money didn't come out of tax payer funds.

I dig that, I really do, but imho NO AMOUNT of donated goods or "financial partnership" should allow the Olympic uniforms to have a corporate logo that is larger than the "USA" or the Olympic rings.

Every time I think our world cannot possibly get more commercialized, I find myself sorely surprised.

But don't blame Ralph Lauren! Clearly somebody at the USOC would have had to approve the designs.

Makes ya wonder if this is the compromise. :P

"Umm, Ralph. The logo is bigger than the jacket."

I'm totally digging the jackets but I've always been a fan of Ralph Lauren. :)

I really liked this line, but have you SEEN the prices??? That jacket cost the same as a really blinged out jumpsuit... the knit beanie is $75... :S

No, I haven't checked out the other pieces yet... $75 for a freaking knit beanie?? That's 3 jumps!! :D

Did you not realize he also did the 2008 summer olympics?

The logo wasn't quite as large though.

Opening Ceremony Knit Sweater
$425.00

Really$425........made in China.....by some blind kids who pull in $10 a day......with $5 shipping.
No wonder the guy has an impressive collection of exotic cars!
Look only one person can have their logo on people and make it look good!

When I first saw that monster size Polo pony I thought it was a sarcastic joke. I was wrong.

I'm not saying I like that fashion trend, but the giant logo has been around for at least a year, and its not just Polo who does it. Abercrombie does it, so does Polo, and I'm sure more do too.
