Gene03 0 #14 January 24, 2010 Left, more color to your complexion and a rounder looking face with fuller hair. In the right one with bad lighting you look pale (it is England ) and your face seems narrower and one dimensional, your hair appears flat and stringy. “The only fool bigger than the person who knows it all is the person who argues with him. But I'm worried the one on the left is too dark & won't meet the passport standards.."There is no problem so bad you can't make it worse." - Chris Hadfield « Sors le martinet et flagelle toi indigne contrôleuse de gestion. » - my boss
rygon 0 #16 January 24, 2010 i'd go for the right hand one just cos the background colour Quote Photos must show a plain, uniform, light grey or cream background. 5 - 10% grey is recommended as a background. full rules here http://www.ips.gov.uk/cps/rde/xchg/ips_live/hs.xsl/36.htm Congratulations on getting a UK passport btw

I think it's probably too dark, but I like me better in it.. *sigh*.. Decisions, decisions.. It'll be on there for 10 years.. They're both a bit cringe-worthy, I think!! Edit: £83 sounds like a bargain.. It's gonna cost me £720 for my application.."There is no problem so bad you can't make it worse." - Chris Hadfield « Sors le martinet et flagelle toi indigne contrôleuse de gestion. » - my boss

wolfriverjoe 1,523 #21 January 25, 2010 Meh, don't worry about it too much. NONE of the customs folks care about how you look in the passport photo. Everyone has butt-ugly passport photos (driver's license too). Besides, after spending hours going through airport security, being stuck on the plane for more hours (usually with a screaming kid behind you kicking your seat) you'll look a lot closer to a crappy pic than a pretty one.Are you giving up your Canadian citizenship for the Brit? or going dual? Nataly 38 #22 January 25, 2010 QuoteDon't want to get this put in Speakers Corner but... "It ensures that there is sufficient distance between the key facial reference points for us to obtain a facial biometric." I think the new passports can be scanned electronically & it's something to do with software recognising people from a "wanted" database.. Increased security measures, etc.. In a way, it's surprising to me that passports are still so "behind the times" in terms of technology.. But hey..
