diverborg 0 #1 May 31, 2005 I just had to make this thread because I feel like I owe it to Mirage. If you are considering a new rig, PLEASE READ THIS. First of all a couple months ago, I just placed an order for a brand new G4, I was told it would take the standard six to eight weeks which is normal for any rig, but to my surprise it came in about three weeks, pretty impressive. The rig was beautiful and flawless. After jumping it for a little bit, I discovered the leg straps didn't quite fit me like they did for my friends that had a G4. I took a couple pictures and the designer knew exactly what to do to fix it, seems my hip structure is a little different. I sent it back to Mirage, they modified it for FREE, and had it in the mail in two working days. Then on a single day's notice, my friends called me up and wanted to go to a memorial day weekend boogie. I called mirage the night before, when they were pretty much closed, asked if they could contact FEDEX and have the package upgraded to receive it the next day. They went way out of there way, even after their office had closed to make sure FEDEX got it to me by the next day. I got the rig, made the boogie and had a blast. The rig fits GREAT, and is very comfortable. THANK YOU MIRAGE. Great product, great customer service, and great price. Sincerely Jeff

jameslovaas 0 #5 June 7, 2005 Got my new g4 in 4 weeks. Had it assembled out at Skydive Chicago last week, and jumped it immediately. Quick service, and great work! Thanks Ward! James L.
partyboy 0 #6 June 7, 2005 Dude sweet rig! Ward hooked me up! Three weeks delivery time. I am overseas in Iraq right now, and still got the job done. I made several broken phone calls through worthless SATCOM antenna's, e-mail servers go down like its cool out here, and on top of it, I was honored my military discount while the offer lasted. Mirage is hands down the fastest and most supportive parachute industry I have ever had the pleasure in dealing with. THANK YOU WARD AND MIRAGE SYS. Up High!! Zoter 0 #7 June 7, 2005 Have to say I have been seriously tempted for a while....as I am umming and awwing about downsizing to a smaller canopy and smaller rig... I have heard nothing but good things ......and damn... 4 weeks people....4 WEEKS !
 wardhessig 0 #8 June 8, 2005 Thanks folks!!! Our product speaks for itself, I am just trying to make the service as good. If anyone out there needs anything at all, drop me a line. I'm glad you guys like your rigs. If you need anything at all hit me up. ward
 wardhessig 0 #9 June 9, 2005 With all due respect guys I have to give credit where credit is due. It was our designer Jeff Johnson that knew how to fix your rig, it was because of his quick work and expertise that your rig is a glove on your back. Actually he is the reason for this amazing product so I want to make sure the credit is going where it should be. And, its Mirage that is doing all the good service. I just follow the policy of the company and its standards set so you're right, Go Mirage. There are several jumpers at my dz that have had the service bulletin done and it doesn't change anything. The reserve flap sits perfectly flush. If the mirage's instructions are followed on how to pack the reserve it will look fine. A lot of riggers don't read the instructions before packing them. (not sure if this is your scenario) Anyway I never communicated with mirage thru email, I just called them and they were great. Give them a call instead.
 Supergeil 0 #18 June 13, 2005 Yes but yours is a G4 not quite the same problem. But I live in Denmark and the call to states will cost me the price of a jumpticket or so. But maybe thats the way to go. Would be very pleased with a useful answer from them. If they only response on easy problems then my next rig is going to be a Javelin.
 diverborg 0 #19 June 13, 2005 I didn't realize your circumstances of being overseas. But there are several G3's at our dropzone too, all with the SB done, and I haven't seen any that don't look right when packed right. I'm not a rigger, but the packing procedure may be just a little different than most riggers are use to. I've talked to the rigger that does our mirages and he says it's all about bulk distribution, and if I recall correctly, how the pilot chute is angled. I hope the wife doesnt get them. Let me know if you need a place to stay.
 wardhessig 0 #22 June 15, 2005 I replied to this request per email that I just received but I will reply to it here as well. We get around 1200 emails per day and unfortunately sometimes the spam blocker takes some of them that aren't meant to be deleted. This is the first that I have heard from this customer. Also, if the spam blocker doesnt delete them, just from the sheer volume of inquiries it somtimes takes a day or two to get them all replied to but they will all be answered as soon as possible. As the other posts on here point to, any Mirage rig can look just as good after the mod as it did before if packed right. It is all about bulk management. I personally have packed around 200 or so after the mod and they all look fine g3's and g4's. And in several cases as customer service to prove the case I have taken customers rigs in and done the pack job for free just to prove that it is totally possible if packed correctly. I will be more than happy to talk to any riggers who are struggling with it to teach them the simple tricks to mastering it. They can also go to one of our service centers websites to get pointers as well. It is www.chutingstar.com We put the mod out to make our rigs safer from information that we acquired from the constant evolution of our sport, not to be a pain in the butts or make our customers unhappy. But just for a little teaser, we are developing some rigger friendly stuff that will alleviate the problem entirely with no extra packing techniques needed whatsoever. I can't say too much but it will be released very soon. Go to our website and sign up for the newsletter on the first page to be the first to get the information on it as soon as it is released and for great information about our product and all sorts of great stuff. Rest assured that we always have our customers in mind with everything that we do and we will do everything in our power to address any issues that a Mirage owner may have. We are skydivers first, and we still care about our family.
