I have see people barried in snow from doing dumb ass things like that and or seriously injured. Snow may look soft and fun, and forgiving but you never know what lies under that first foot of fresh. If you don't have a background in winter life you will think I am a prude for saying this. Most others will agree with me. You are very very lucky you were not injured.
