Her profession is listed as "California-based actress and writer". But she wasn't popular enough for anyone to know who she was prior to this stunt. So I doubt she had a quarter-million dollars just lying around to spend on a spurned-lover ad campaign. On the other hand, if a quasi-scandalous affair makes the President of the US look bad because of a secondary or tertiary relationship, I think there are plenty of people with enough money to spend on that endeavor. They even squeezed Obama right into the title of the article. YaVaughnie Wilkins - who? sex scandal - interesting ... Charles Phillips - who? Obama aide - oh, Obama friend illicit sex!
