margylynn 0 #1 June 1, 2005 I just Scotchguarded my brand new Infinity container (which is black) and when it dried, it dried with a cloudy white film all over it. It looks as if it has been sitting in the sun all summer. Can anyone help me with how to fix this??? It looks AWFUL!!
masterrig 1 #2 June 1, 2005 Try using a medium 'stiff' bristled brush and lightly brush the material. You may have used too much Scotchguard at one time. Several light coats seems to work best. Chuck
margylynn 0 #3 June 1, 2005 I've tried the brush tactic (the first idea given to me by my DZO) and....no luck. Any other ideas??
masterrig 1 #4 June 1, 2005 You might try contacting 3-M corp. or the harness-container manufacturer. You didn't use too much Scotchguard in the application process, did you? Chuck
margylynn 0 #5 June 1, 2005 3M lists no phone number contact, so I e-mailed them with my dilemma - waiting to hear back. My fiance is the one who did the Scotchguarding and he has done it many times successfully with his own container, so I'm sure he didn't use too much. I'm contacting Velocity Sports today. Thanks for your help!
masterrig 1 #6 June 1, 2005 Let us know here at DZ.com, the results of your findings. May have been a bad batch of Scotchguard!? This is a new one on me. Chuck
Kris 0 #7 June 1, 2005 It sounds like you didn't do several very light coats. Sounds like it's time to have your rigger bring out the washing tub & Woolite, wash the rig, and do it over.Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

That's exactly what I would do. Sounds as though someone, got in a hurry. Washing it in Woolite, sure won't hurt anything. Chuck
