aprilcat 0 #26 May 16, 2008 What area of writing are you experienced in? It seems you have the start but haven't laid out your synopsis nor beats. Try writing the end then developing how they got there. I want to know whats the end run of it? Just someone (the woman) who befriended the guy with the heart problem, who died in jail, to fulfill a dream of flying free with his childhood buddy?. That will be $5K. Now YOU tell me why she's in love with the jailbird. Was she helping steal the tv? I see more of getting a serious beating for trying to steal from a construction site. Maybe they are ALL friends, then she gets away free, and they bond on the run. No military. Think Thelma and Louise. Thelma and Joe. That will be $10K. Okay..so, Thelma and Joe are on the run and Thelma smells like gas and there was a cctv in the construction site and a partially burned tape. Joe feels bad and... ...that will be $15K. ...most of writing reflects your own life. Is your name Joe? ...now you need to get on the couch. That will be $20k. $25k if you want me to keep Turtlespeed from getting on it WITH you. Camelot II, the Electric Boogaloo!

livendive 8 #29 May 16, 2008 QuoteGolden Knights (US Army Parachute Demonstration Team) are the only ones who brag about doing tandem jumps. A bunch of other special forces units (Rangers, Airborne Pathfinders, Green Berets, Marine Recon, SEALS, USAF ParaRescuemen, Forward Air Controllers, Delta and the unit that prefers not to be mentioned in public ...) all jump tandem bundles into battle. Whether they do tandem jumps with soldiers strapped on front ... is not discussed in polite company. What he said. Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" moviewriter 0 #30 May 19, 2008 Jewels, thank you so much for your reply. I'm glad to see some people here are mature enough to reply in a serious manner. I can also see that I'm not going to find what I need here, so everyone else can post all the smart-ass remarks you want, and entertain each other, I'll figure out something else . DJL 235 #31 May 20, 2008 Your character doesn't have to have gotten his Tandem Rating while being in the Army, he could have been a rated civilian instructor beforehand. That way your character's timeline and this jump with his girlfriend doesn't have to depend on what he's doing in the military. By the way, the only people who give a shit about how accurate a skydiving segment is are the few skydivers who don't realize that their friends think they're dorks for caring about how accurate a skydiving segment is."I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
denete 3 #32 May 20, 2008 Well, you did post to the Bonfire. Actually - we are more accurate, logical, and factual here, rather than in GS, comparitively. happythoughts 0 #34 May 20, 2008 Last weekend, I met 10 friends to hear some bands at a city-block size venue. We stood around talking about every kind of topic. At some point, someone would say something serious. Four people would respond, and the fifth would make some wiseass joke (ok, it was me). So, this is the electronic representation of the world. I expect a certain percentage of wiseasses everywhere. There was some kidding that was meant to be non-offensive. If this has been a problem, I expect that you probably suffer in real life also. Generally, if you enter a venue whether others do not know you and your sensitivities, you're going to need to inform them initially. Post a pic of yourself in a movie directors beret, black pants, and a tshirt that says "No funny business".
lisamariewillbe 1 #35 January 14, 2010 Problem with portraying skydiving realistically is a wuffo, will not understand it, you will lose them in confusion. First off the general public looks at this behavior as dangerous and it is fueled by fear of the unknown. Most people can not wrap their head around what it means , what it does to the body and how it affects the brain. Im sure people will disagree in this forum but thats cause your skydivers. A documentary might be different, and would have different expectations. If this movie is not a documentary then you have several things to consider. Firstly, how are you going to film the movie? Not just the jump but the actual movie. Are you doing audio separate? What type of camera are you using? If you have actual skydiving , then you have alot of tweaking (if possible) to make it a seamless transition without making it appear separate. Or lets say you go the route we did, we green screen a commercial skydiving scene , but its obvious green screen and and any skydiver who sees it will balk at the fact that the skydiver is not only holding a dog in the crook of her arm but also holding a cell phone in the other and speaking, however, the wuffos grasp it because they think its possible. Unless your movie is a doc I would suggest playing to your audience. If its a low to no budget film maybe delve more into the realistic aspects and stay true to this sport , skydivers may buy it. If its just a back story that does not take up much of the film Id say look for alternatives. If your interested in seeing the completed green screen skydiving scene email me at lisamariekull@gmail.com and Ill send you the link. Most importantly think of your target audience, the safety of those on set, and the insurance costs of a production involving actual skydiving. *Disclaimers to skydivers...I did nag and complain as they worked the story line I swear. I told them its not realistic, they proved to me why it doesnt need to be.Sudsy Fist: i don't think i'd ever say this Sudsy Fist: but you're looking damn sudsydoable in this
