quade 4 #3 January 7, 2010 The best "classic" pizza I've ever had was at a little family owned joint about a two miles south of of Fullerton airport in SoCal. I guess other folks thought it was pretty good too since it wasn't uncommon to see pilots that had flown in from Edwards stopping by. So, here they were with pretty much anywhere in all of SoCal to get away from testing in the middle of the desert and they'd picked this place, which wasn't even all that close to the airport. Mamma took the orders. She must have come straight off the boat after WWII. Papa and Junior worked the kitchen. Daughter (possibly daughter-in-law) worked the cash register. Great place. Not really certain what you'd call the pizza except "awesome."quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

But when I was down in Sebastian this past November I had pizza in Cocoa Beach at a little place called "Bizzaro's". Oh my gosh hands down best pizza ever. freethefly 6 #6 January 8, 2010 Imo's is real good but, Arcobasso's at W. Florissant and Chambers Rd is the hands down best Italian food in St. Louis. The best pizza and fried ravioli, period!"...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." peek 21 #7 January 8, 2010 www.imospizza.com - Definitely a strange St. Louis thing, (but I don't know any better, as I've lived in the St. Louis area all my life). Provel cheese based, usually (maybe always?) thin crust, and for some reason they cut it into rectangular pieces. I like it as much as other styles of pizza. blacklabjumper 0 #9 January 8, 2010 Hard to beat pizza from New York or Boston but having grown up outside of Boston. I am partial to Captain Nemo's on Commonwealth ave just around the corner from Fenway Pahk. I haven't been there in years and i don't even know if it is still there. But in all my travels I still think it is the best pizza. IMHORodriguez Brother #1626 Dudiest Skydiver #1962 DPH #-

Vinnie Van Go Go's in Savannah GA has one of the best Calzones I've ever had.. pizza is awesome as well. I am NOT being loud. I'm being enthusiastic! fallinbear 0 #12 January 8, 2010 Myle's pizza in Bowling Green, Ohio...hands down it's the best. That is, second to the 'zas my Mom used to make. I still can't duplicate what she did If you're ever in the area, it's quite worth checkin' out!!! I don't want to make all the decisions because if I screw up, then I can't blame it on you... warpedskydiver 0 #14 January 9, 2010 We have a place called Village Pizza, they will ship pizza too. It is just damned good. I have had really good pizza in Italy and this is right up there with that. BTW sometimes Stefani's make fantastic cheese pizza when it is really busy, wood fired ovens too. The roasted chicken is awesome.
freethefly 6 #15 January 9, 2010 If you're ever in Mexico City, steer clear of the Shakey's Pizza, if it is still there. Was across from the main rail station. The worst pizza I have ever had. I did work as a pizza cook at a Happy Joes Pizza for about a year back in High School (St.Louis)."...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." The thing about living in NYC is you often eat at a new pizza joint every other week, and compare each to the last. I miss being able to go to the nearest pizza place knowing I can get a slice, or a chicken roll, or some garlic knots, or whatever unique bread, cheese, pepperoni concoction that place has on their menu. Also, notice how there are so many "New York Style" pizza places in every other city in the US... pretty much says it all. **ETA: If Anyone is ever in or near Fargo, ND you MUST go to Duane's House of Pizza, it is probably the best pizza I have ever had... and I too have eaten pizza in and throughout Italy. Tink1717 2 #17 January 9, 2010 The best pizza I've ever had is from a small family place called Reginas outside of Wash. D.C. When they first opened in '77, they had to hire translators to get from Sicilian Italian to English. I am a pizza junkie and have never been able to reproduce it or had anything else ever come close. Man, I miss that place. I haven't lived in the D.C. area for 27 years, so I don't know if it's still open. Given the way the area deteriorated in the early 90's, I'd bet not.Skydivers don't knock on Death's door. They ring the bell and runaway... It really pisses him off. -The World Famous Tink.
