base695 0 #1 June 6, 2005 GDay All I have taken possession of a great used canopy with advertising letters sewn on bottom skin (its a 120 ZP elliptical) Would like to remove the lettering but would it be detrimental to performance? Would all the threadless stitch holes let lots of air out? Thanks
masterrig 1 #2 June 6, 2005 Shouldn't hurt a thing, to remove the advertising. The stitch holes should make no difference in performance, either. You will have the same stitch holes as when the letters were sewn-on. Just be real careful, picking all those stitches. Also, be sure, none of the lettering or advertising is not sewn into structural seams. If not, no problem. Chuck
f1shlips 2 #3 June 6, 2005 Hold the stitch picker and the fabric so that you are picking away from any fabric or webbing. You really need to ensure that the evil little spear on the end of the stitch picker won't accidentally cut through anything. That little tool has some amazing destructive power in the wrong hands.-- drop zone (drop'zone) n. An incestuous sesspool of broken people. -- Attributed to a whuffo girlfriend. BlindBrick 0 #4 June 6, 2005 The first thign i owuld do is take a stone and round off the end of your seam ripper. Be sure that when you round it off that it is smooth and has no burrs. -Blind"If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."
