Murder
Rape with grievous injury (no date rapes, or rape convictions where the evidence is shaky) There are other punishments for that.
Kidnapping
Terrorism (with grievous injury whether it be first hand or having others do it upon your command)
Child Molesters.

Crimes against humanity (murder, rape, torture, slavery in or out of country, ect.)
Malfeasance in government (misuse of power, taking bribes, funneling contracts to "friends" and family, ect.)
Malfeasance in corporate responsibility for CEOs and BoD (screwing over stockholders, employees or the rest of the country's tax payers, intentionally dumping toxic waste anywhere on the planet, ect.)

That might just about cover it. I would hold government and corporate heads to a MUCH higher standard than they are held to now. Screw over the people you're responsible for and yeah, death penalty. Right now they get off WAY too easy and so they continue to do it.
