HydroGuy 0 #1 June 10, 2005 Been doing some container shopping. I am interested in Mirage and Infinity for the most part. What are the differences between a Mirage G3 and G4? What are some of the reasons you chose one over the other? ie G4 over G3, or Infinity over Mirage I really like the demo Infinity that I've jumped, but I believe it's because it happens to fit me the best of the demo rigs available for my canopy/harness size. I understand that any rig I get custom made will fit me better. On the flip side, I like Mirages 4 week delivery time. Just looking for info. HydroGuy 0 #2 June 10, 2005 And yes, I read the gear reviews and I did a search. All the returns I got were from 2003...talking about creasing issues on the early model G4's. I'm assuming these have been resolved. KurtGet in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
hookncrater 0 #3 June 10, 2005 IIRC, The container is a slightly different shape, G4 comes with padded back pad, lumbar support, split d-bag (although you can get a regular one if you want), and some other things I can't remember. Call Mirage or check out their website for a complete walk-through of the features.________________________________________________________________________________ when in doubt... hook it! jasonRose 0 #4 June 12, 2005 I just ordered my G4 on friday. Talk to Ward at Mirage he will talk you into the G4. Bonnie at Gravity Gear can hook you up with a killer deal for a mirage and save you some $$$$$ I wont tell you what I paid but I can tell you she will make it worth a phone call. I did a lot of looking prior to buying and the money spent on the mirage was worth the faster delivery time compared to the infinity. The infinity seemed to be a killer container as well if you can wait the six weeks. Rumor has it that infinity is raising there prices on the 15 so time is of the essence. 4 Weeks and counting!!!!!!! Some day I will have the best staff in the world!!!
Tonto 1 #5 June 13, 2005 I own a G3 and a G4. I got the G4 about 17 months back - it has about 500 dives on it, looks new and feels fantastic. I was getting tired of putting my wingsuit on the rig and taking it off every week, so I decieded to get another rig. I got a G3 cos the elasticated lumbar support on the G4 makes it a shade more complex hooking up the suit. Mirage did all the Birdman mods on the G3 too. The G3 is relatively new, with only 30 or so dives on it, but when I'm doing regular dives with it, I can't feel the difference between it and the G4. Both have PD 126R's, a Stilleto 107 in the G4 and a Safire 109 in the G3. I'm really happy with both of them. I know nothing of infinities. I don't think one has ever made it to South Africa. tIt's the year of the Pig.
