mutumbo 0 #3 December 8, 2009 depending on what they did in the bird and how long the flight was it might be that expensive in itself glad you dont have to foot the bill though Thanatos340(on landing rounds)-- Landing procedure: Hand all the way up, Feet and Knees Together and PLF soon as you get bitch slapped by a planet. blacklabjumper 0 #4 December 8, 2009 Damn! I was guessing around 10K. They didn't do anything on the chopper but wipe the blood away from going in my eyes. The chopper ride itself was about 20-25 minutes at most as best as I can recallRodriguez Brother #1626 Dudiest Skydiver #1962 DPH #-

skittles_of_SDC 0 #7 December 8, 2009 Makes me wish the hospital I was at would have given me an itemized bill. I would have liked to have seen how the $50K broke down.

Well, OR time and anesthesia time are billed by the 15 minutes. then if you got hardware. Surgeon's time plus paying all the OR staff.... Recovery room time and staff/meds. Shit adds up FAST. Beerlight 0 #11 December 8, 2009 I have a friend that flies EMS... I'll ask him what rates are, but I would expect it'll run at least $10K. My dad had to be medivac'd about 100 miles this past summer. He had a stroke, needed lots of attention...his bill $17K.

Southern_Man 0 #13 December 8, 2009 Doesn't include any of the doctor's bills either. Those will be billed separately."What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

DSE 5 #18 December 8, 2009 My lifeflight was 13 minutes one way. 12,692.00. Hospital bills for pelvis, sacrum, coccyx, ACL/MCL, bladder and colon damage (plus other sundries) came to just shy of 200,000.00. Add therapy and a few other post-accident issues, just over 225,000.00.

A few months later I finally received the itemized bill for just shy of $102,000. Co-pay = $500.When the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.
