SKYWHUFFO 1 #4 December 6, 2009 I don't think Dana White cares too much for Roy Nelson and not much more for Kimbo. Which one of these two becomese the scaraficial lamb for Lessner's first warm-up fight back? it will be a brutal beating unseen in the UFC.
Andrewwhyte 1 #5 December 6, 2009 It is not reasonable that either one of them fight Lesner yet. I agree that White is not enthusiastic about Big Country, but I am not so sure about Kimbo. He gave him an opponent hand picked to play to his strengths (who the fuck fights at 3 pounds over the minimum?) That said I thought Alexander won the fight. jtval 0 #6 December 6, 2009 Are you kidding? Kimbo is Dana's cash cow. That was the biggest advertising push I had seen for any of the TUF seasons. Before the season even started the big "draw" was that Kimbo was on the show. Remember that the show was completed before we ever saw one episode. They knew that Kimbo lost in a very boring fight but Dana/UFC knew that "the internet sensation" would bring lots of viewers so they advertised the hell out of him. You may be correct in saying Dana doesn't think much of Kimbo's game but Dana definitely Likes Kimbo. For a relatively boring fight Kimbo showed us that he has been working his ground game. Had he tried any of that against someone who had ANY BJJ themselves Kimbo would have been tossed around. But for a fight that was supposed to be toe-to-toe brawl it was good to see Kimbo trying something new since Houston's game was to point Kimbo for the win. I gotta say the Roy FINALLY did something interesting and impressive. He is boring to watch (at least during the show) and he talks like he just saved the world. Maybe he was doing just enough to win in the house but during his first real UFC fight I blinked and Brendon was KTFO'd. I was very surprised. I think that Lesnar's next fight should be against Shawn Carwin, still. I don't know how long Lesnar will take to heal and Shawn will probably fight before Lesnar gets back. But, if Shawn is still on his winning streak he should be a top contender. Maybe, they'll have to create an interim belt while Brock is healing to get a ranking order ,but we all know how that works. Remember, Frank Mir was the interim belt holder and they put a relatively unknown fighter against Randy Couture in front of Frank Mir. Lesnar was 1-1 in MMA when he got the title fight against Randy. So they may put Kimbo OR big Country in front of the line without any reason if they think it'll sell more tickets. I don't think Kimbo has the time or the Health to become a top tier contender. (by Health, I am referring to his knee. and by time I am referring to his age.) But it would be good to see him become a a multi-faceted MMAist and not just a brawler. My photos My Videos
Andrewwhyte 1 #7 December 6, 2009 Are you replying to me or Skywhuffo? I agree that Kimbo is Dana's boy.

ridestrong 1 #9 December 7, 2009 I wasn't impressed by any of the heavy weights this season and thought pretty much every bout was boring and lacked any good talent. I was hopeful for big baby but yeah he has no chin, too bad. I don't think big country has a big future in MMA. I hope he gets his ass beat soon so I don't have to watch him lay on top of anyone else as his main game plan. Miguel Angel Torres is still one of my all time favorite mma fighters to watch.*I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
jtval 0 #10 December 7, 2009 Miguel is a machine. I still havent seen the fight that he lost. But eventually everyone loses. I agree with you on Big country...AND Big Baby. I wonder if he'll fight again. He said he (on the show) that he couldn't put his wife through that but I think he'll be back. Maybe if he learned to protect his chin he'll have a better chance of taking a shot. But when he shoots he just runs in and leaves a huge target. My photos My Videos
shah269 0 #11 December 7, 2009 I'm sorry but would it be rude if I said that I find the entire Ultimate Fighter thing to be with out civility and grace? I'm sure some enjoy it but for me....it's similar to a microwave meal.Life through good thoughts, good words, and good deeds is necessary to ensure happiness and to keep chaos at bay. jtval 0 #12 December 7, 2009 Rude? No. It's your opinion. Some see it is barbaric. I wasn't really into it until I learned a bit about the techincal nature of it. It's more than two men fighting. In general, the fighters respect each other and will not do anything to excessively hurt the other fighter. I used to watch it and think it was boring when to guys were "wrestling" and not doing anything. But now, I understand that there is a lot going on in the ground game. That doesnt mean you have to listen to my opinion, I am just telling ya how I became a fan.My photos My Videos
shah269 0 #13 December 7, 2009 Ah ok cool! I'll read up on it. I didn't realize there were rules. From the outside it looked to be a bar fight. It lacks the outright grace of boxing. But I'll look into it.Life through good thoughts, good words, and good deeds is necessary to ensure happiness and to keep chaos at bay. The only thing that falls from the sky is birdshit and fools! jtval 0 #14 December 7, 2009 Nah, not just a bar fight. As far as the UFC goes, Joe Rogan is a great announcer because he speaks to the audience from a spectator point of view. He's a huge fan of MMA and he trains, as well. But, he does a great job of describing what is going on during the fight. My photos My Videos
