If it DOES end on a certain date, it would happen in 24 small increments (15-degrees of longitude) as the date SLOWLY moves westward from the Int’l Date Line. For example, when it’s December 21st in New Zealand, it’s still December 20th in New York. Those of us here on the west coast of the U.S. watching CNN will probably see it happen to most of the rest of the world before it gets to us.
