lippy 918 #1 November 11, 2009 I'm well on my way to being set up in TX. I got my cable hooked up last Thursday and the cable modem started losing connection right away. On Friday I went to the provider and exchanged the modem for another one, same problem. So I called the provider and this morning a tech came over and replaced two two-way splitters with one three-way splitter and said that should take care of it. 20 minutes after he left it started going wonky again. I just called the cable company and they said they'll send a tech over tomorrow. So now this is the 3rd time in a week that I'm taking off of my new job to get my cable straightened out. I just got a USB-HDMI converter for my laptop to run my 50" TV off the computer, but it sucks when the modem drops out every 10 minutes! If they can't fix this I hope they'll at least let me out of my contract so I can go with a DSL provider that isn't dependant on the the old cables in my apartment.I got nuthin
d_squared431 0 #2 November 11, 2009 Check the cable box thing outside cause maybe someone is disconnecting your cable and connecting it to their house/apt. That happened to me a few times when I lived in an apt.TPM Sister#130ONTIG#1 I love vodka.I love vodka cause it rhymes with Tuaca~LisaH You having a clean thought is like billyvance having a clean post.iluvtofly
Gawain 0 #3 November 11, 2009 Where do you live in Texas? If Verizon is the local telephone company, see if you can get FiOS...blows the snot out of cable...So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! lippy 918 #4 November 11, 2009 I'm in Ft. Worth. If I can cancel my cable I'll definitely check in with Verizon. Most of my coworkers here don't even have cable or satellite for TV, they just run HD Media Centers from their computers. The picture quality from my USB-HDMI is great, even on the 50" plasma, but if I can't get online to get media it'll get pretty boring.
