JerryBaumchen 1,445 #1 October 23, 2009 Hi Folks, Some info that came in an email: This appears to be legit! It might be worth checking out in your area. I checked the link and looks to be real. All that's required is any proof of service including even just a photograph in uniform for Vets who did not retire from the service. So if you're a Vet or know one this is worth sharing. Nice of Applebee's to do this. For additional details, visit: www.applebees.com/vetsday. Please don't hesitate to contact Applebee's if you have any questions. I looked up the link & it seems to be a real-deal, JerryBaumchen

I'll get lunch and maybe take some friends. Be patient with the faults of others; they have to be patient with yours.

That is surprising. I have one pic of me in uniform but it's from a distance. Would probably work. Will bring a copy of my dd214 and dog tags just in case. www.FourWheelerHB.com

Military food was excellent while I was in. We even had steak and shrimp every Friday (real steak, not hamburger steak). I do remember one Friday we didn't get the shrimp and had to settle for lobster, though.Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials! AggieDave 6 #15 October 24, 2009 That's great! I wish more places would do this for our military and vets. Too bad our local Applebee's keeps getting shut down by the health department for various things. Maybe MREs would be a safer bet... --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

Yeah but in the 7th INF Div @ Ft Ord. we had steak and lobster every Wednesday for lunch for six months to make up for some wrong doing in the mess. Damn was that good. We had roast beast too, damn fine. In Germany we had an excellent mess hall. At Fort Sill the food was like dogshit. Ft Dix was the same way. Ft Gordon was tolerable, had nice 4th of July as well. Ft Polk back then has some of the best and worst. GLNTC- Chiefs mess and the club is nice. (Great view of lake Michigan from the terrace) Ft. Benning was tolerable. Ft. Behning is the best of all.
