wmw999 2,588 #1 November 9, 2009 Cool pictures that someone didn't take with their cellphone camera. A Finnish photographer spent time trying for these, and it worked. Moral to the story -- good luck comes to those who are ready for it, whether they're holding a mythical high-res cell phone, or a nature photographer who consistently waits in the right spot, ready for action Wendy P.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)

wmw999 2,588 #8 November 9, 2009 Crap -- I looked it up in Snopes, but thought it was new, so I didn't look real far down the list. It only robs from the cell phone, though. JohnMitchell 16 #14 November 9, 2009 I checked out the Snopes video link to the eagle carrying off a fox. Couldn't tell if it was an adult or maybe a smaller, younger fox. Not sure if the fox in the pictures could have been carried off later, but it sure was getting its A$$ kicked. Crazy things you'll do when you're hungry. We have a couple of bald eagles that live on the river behind our house, nesting at the golf course. We've watched them feasting on the dead salmon in the stream. Beautiful birds. csubl 0 #17 November 9, 2009 Here's a wildlife picture that was taken with a cellphone camera. I was in the woods hunting whitetail deer when a herd of elk ambled on by. The picture doesn't do justice to what I saw (they were a lot closer than the picture shows) but you can just barely make out a few animals in the center of the image. riddler 0 #18 November 9, 2009 I was taking a boat tour in Acadia some years ago, and the guide didn't have too high of an opinion of Eagles. He was talking about how they stole most of their food from all the other birds and animals, rather than hunting themselves. I think the lobster farmers there have quite a few problems with them as well. But these are very cool pictures - thanks for sharing.Trapped on the surface of a sphere.
