Cheach 0 #26 November 2, 2009 3 jumps. One jump was someone's 2000th. That was cool to be on considering it was only my 39th and he trusted me to be one of the three with him! Oh, and I landed BRILLIANTLY on my face. I did stand up one landing. Did I mention I am working on landings?I woke up next to a blowup doll Ash....so what do you think? Heatmiser 0 #27 November 2, 2009 What you fail to mention is he, and the other most experience jumper in that 4 way, both landed out. What you say is reflective of your knowledge...HOW ya say it is reflective of your experience. Airtwardo Someone's going to be spanked! Hopefully, it will be me. JohnDeere 0 #30 November 2, 2009 Quote Did I mention I am working on landings? Why dont you call down to Dallas and see when the next canopy course is. I did my first canopy course at 70 something jumps and it helped alot! Or get one of your locals to video a landing of yours and get someone (an exp. canopy pilot) to review it with you.Nothing opens like a Deere! You ignorant fool! Checks are for workers! Cheach 0 #31 November 2, 2009 Yah...I have had a few lately videotaped. It has helped! I have only jumped my rig like 7 times...Much better landings on my own rig. I do need a canopy course though. Shoot...I need a lot of courses! Before I was able to jump my gear, my biggest problem was flaring too high and then hitting a wee bit hard. I think my biggest issue now is being afraid I will hit hard, so I go down even when I don't need to. I'm working on it! Staged flaring helps A LOT!I woke up next to a blowup doll Ash....so what do you think?
skybytch 273 #32 November 2, 2009 2:1:0 Two overnight guests. One really fun tracking dive, after which I opened high and enjoyed the gorgeous sunset before landing last. In the peas, after "almost" going grass-gravel-grass
iluvtofly 0 #33 November 2, 2009 Quote :4:0 Went waterskiing at skydive the Farm on Sunday. It rained so much Saturday that the ponds oveflowed and the entire field was 2 inches deep in water. I managed to stay pretty dry but saw some pretty spectacular "water" landings. Never thought I'd see water spray up 6 feet in the air when people slid in a landing in a field. First time for everything. Oh shit, . :1:0 You just need to learn WHERE to land when it's like that. I found a perfectly dry patch to land on. It probably also helps that I grew up water skiing so what water I did skid across didn't phase me at all.
buff 0 #34 November 3, 2009 Only jump Sunday was the morning dummy load. Had the choice of a subdivision full of strings-things or a section of milo ready for harvest. Milo sucks. No more loads followed. It's called the Hillbilly Hop N Pop dude. If you're gonna be stupid, you better be tough. That's fucked up. MrDree 0 #37 November 3, 2009 :1:0 The weather wasn't very good, but I managed to do one jump on Saturday. I had 3 line twists and a lot of fun. "One day, your life will flash before your eyes. Baksteen 84 #39 November 3, 2009 : 3 : 0 Three jumps - twice dispatching novice SL-students for their FIRST landing on the airfield itself, once dropping a student on LZ Westbroek for his very first jump. I was impressed with his exit - *I* can't do em that good... Saturday evening I was second at the poker table. After subtracting my entry fee I'd managed to win a grand total of one single euro...."That formation-stuff in freefall is just fun and games but with an open parachute it's starting to sound like, you know, an extreme sport." ~mom

iluvtofly 0 #45 November 4, 2009 As Hans put it, "The landing area is getting dryer with every load." I'm sure by the end of the day all of the water that had been in the landing area made it into the hanger.
