gulaz 1 #1 June 28, 2005 I am trying to come up with the best way to deploy a flag in freefall (10'x5' or larger). I was thinking about sewing together a small bag that will fit it, with a handle attached to the outside, and one corner of the flag attached to the inside. The other bottom corner of the flag will have another handle, and a bag closing type device (2 or 3 closing loops with a piece of line through them). This way, one jumper can safely exit the aircraft with the flag contained, and the other jumper just needs to fly up, and grab the other handle, and they fly away from each other... voila a deployed flag. Any safety issues anybody can think of? Suggestions? Am i barking up the completely wrong tree? Thanks

You may wish to PM him a link to this thread for input.Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Am i barking up the completely wrong tree? *** I PM'd him back with some detailed suggestions...but would like to say here- The flag he's considering is too big for two people to control safely. And if the BIO is correct, he will want to get with the local DZO ASO CSO whom ever... and get some opinions as to whether the experience level is in line with attempting a jump of this type. ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~

Flying flags in freefall can go to hell in a heart beat, been there done that. Work out every detail before hand and then go over everything again. You asked for advise. If you got some form Airtwardo you would be smart to follow it. He has been at this shit a long time and there is a reason he is still around. gulaz 1 #6 June 28, 2005 Thank you for the PM. I am not planning on jumping the flag, I am just trying to set up something to help a couple of more experienced jumpers do it. Thank you
