Loved the look of it and paid plenty for it, but the light it put out wasn't near enough for me. MrCat 0 #131 October 10, 2009 I love bikes - I had my bike licence for 10 years before getting my car licence :) I live on the Isle of Man so it's the perfect place for a bike. Right now I have a Blackbird (went 2,600 miles on it to Empuriabrava and back to take my AFF on it last year), a CBR600 for going to work on (when I'm not cycling in) and my streetfightered Honda Hornet.Jump more, post less. It's a lot of fun to ride, it's geared down so it maxes out at 130 but the trade off is that it accelerates real quick and lifts the front end over most lumps in the road. You obviously missed the history of bikes since 1962 til present. 250cc TT scrambler? The GS1150E? The GSXRs The Various GP bikes they put forth? BTW the Katana is the bike that made all manufactuers go back to the drawing board and come up with better bikes. The original Katana 1000 is a museum piece of technology. BTW if you would care to race your R1 against my old bike I think my old bones might be up for it. Of course my bike is heavier and so am I. However I am familiar with the position of the throttle stop. You ever get a WERA license? The MXers? hhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Bike bashing is a moot point. Just because it's not for you doesn't make it a bad bike. I grew up riding dirt bikes and then "rice burner" street bikes. I liked them but the cafe' racers are not made for someone 6'4". Just not comfortable for me. Started hanging out with a bunch of Harley guys 20+ years ago and that's what I like now.
