There are several things contributing: 1. A male-female population rate is approximately 48/52 now; 2. The tradition culture strongly disfavors a divorced female, and favors a divorced male, which results in a pretty large amount of males who just don't want any long term relationship. A lot of ladies complain that after 25-30 it is extremely hard to find a partner - all decent men are either married, not married and don't want to (there is a unlimited pool of young mistresses), or so crappy that nobody wants them (like history of alcohol and physical abuse, maybe also a couple of felonies). 3. There is very little work in suburban Russia, so any ambitious men just move to large cities like Moscow or St. Petersburg to get a better job, contributing to further reduction of available partners.
