matt91078 0 #1 July 19, 2005 Has anyone traded in their Mirage container toward a new one? If so, how much did they offer you, and do you think it was reasonable? Thanks. edit: I had asked them if they could resize my container to accomodate a smaller main. Kristin emailed on Monday morning for my serial # so they could properly check on my question, and then Ward emailed me with the trade-in offer later the same day because he said they could not adjust it for me. I am calling Tuesday the 19th to talk to him about it. I just wondered if anyone else had done this.

matt91078 0 #3 November 28, 2005 Talked to Ward a couple times. He offered about $1215 for it since they'd have to check it over and recertify it as "new" or like new. He suggested I talk to people and see what I could get for it. I got $1500 cash from somebody else. It was G4.1 M4 with Nickel UNISYN chest/hip rings, custom piping, backpad, RSL. Fit the other person perfectly, virtually no wear despite 350+ jumps (used packing mat and it never touched dirt), no factory wait, and saved him the 5-6 weeks as well as $1000. wardhessig 0 #4 December 1, 2005 Just thought I would jump in on this one a little bit. Its good you found a buyer and got a little more for your rig. When you trade in the rig with us it is just like trading in your car at a dealership. You can probably get a little more by selling it privately but you have the convenience of not having to deal with it. Also from this post I noticed that you said no 6 week wait. When we agree to take a rig on trade, you jump your rig all the way up to the day your new one is done, then we just make out the swap so you're not down a weekend without your rig. We do have to assume the cost of refurbishing the rig to like new status, advertising the rig, stocking the rig and all that goes along with it and thats why the value is less than you can get on the street. Just thought i would clarify a couple things for those that are interested. ward
matt91078 0 #5 December 20, 2005 I said it worked out well for him because there was no 6 week wait for him. I knew how long it would take for my new rig to be completed so I jumped other things at the DZ while I waited. Everything else you said, I said earlier as a reason the offer from Mirage was lower than a private sale. I have no problem with you having to offer less. You as a business become liable when you allow a trade-in and I understand you have to inspect and make factory new which is exactly why you told me I should look for private sale because you figured I could get more that way.
