On a second thought, that’s not important … I don’t really need to post here, do I? (I don’t.) It's "Nazis". You have to add the "s" on the end of a word (in most cases) to make it plural. Do/does - I'll leave that alone for now. Consider this your warning. Why would I have to learn another language? I'm American.

Pardon me for offending your sensibilities by not strictly adhering to all the proper grammar rules . For someone whom has learned English by watching movies and listening to music, I do quite alright ... well, I do well enough to be trusted with quite few responsibilities in the corporate world … but I guess this forum has higher standards . The best way to determine if you should use the dative case 'whom' is to reformulate the subjunctive clause into a question and then determine how you would answer the question. You would never ask the question, "Whom has learned english", nor would you answer it, "Me has" I can only assume one of the languages you are fluent in isn't German since they rarely get the dative/accusative case mixed up. Sorry - grammar is a compulsion of mine For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.

AlRedler 0 #35 August 26, 2009 Actually "gotten" comes from old English and used to be correct in England in the 17th century. But if it isn't how it is spoken in England, how can it be proper English!

freefal 0 #49 August 26, 2009 People always talk about the anonymity of the internet, but with spelling and grammar issues like this you can get a glimpse of what the real person I actually like. For example, if “theys talkin bout stoopid stuf on tha interweb and how u dont no what ur talkin bout” …then you know they are probably someone who you shouldn’t try to debate the finer points of politics or religion with. (Although a quick view of the speakers corner shows that this logic isn’t really used as much as it probably should be.) Poor grammar aside, I personally like to see the regional differences in everyone’s post. When people use words like whilst, mate, colour, and wanker I know they’re not from the same side of town as I am and it’s interesting to “hear” them on this forum. No matter what though, it’s a “theater” not a “theatre” and I always hated the word “shoppe”. Oh, I almost forgot my two favorites. There is no “a” in Missouri and you don’t pronounce the “s” in Illinois. Unless yous from dem parts… then is aaiight! "Ignorance is bliss" and "Patience is a virtue"... So if you're stupid and don't mind waiting around for a while, I guess you can have a pretty good life!

When I do, I insist on spelling out words. I also do not understand the need to text all the time (especially while driving). I always get a shocked look from people both younger and older when I tell them I do not text, I do not have an iPhone, or iPod or pay to listen to the radio. Those same people wonder how the hell I get done in a hour what takes them a day.Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
