Snowwhite 0 #26 August 23, 2009 Our older dog, Julius, is having a hard time getting up and down, and is spending more time laying in one spot. Still sweet and loving. 13 years old. We know her time is very limited, and that FreeFall will have a hard time adjusting to his mom going away. We know what you are going thru, and wish good thoughts for you and for Millie.skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
shropshire 0 #27 August 23, 2009 Thanks, she did have a great life with us and gave so much back in return. Like all old ladies, she slept a lot (in the sun when she could find some!!) for most of the day ...untill her lead was rattled or dinner dish moved. We are grateful to have the time that we did with her and wouldn't have missed any of it. (.)Y(.) wolfriverjoe 1,523 #38 August 25, 2009 I'm sorry for your loss. Too many people say "It's only a dog", but they don't call them "Man's best friend" for nothing. My little pal (avatar pic) is getting old and I know and dread the fact that that day is getting closer and closer. In time the pain will fade and you will still have the good memories. That's when you will be truly able to appreciate what you did for her and what she did for you. Do your best to comfort Millie too. I don't know how much dogs mourn, but she'll be lost and confused without her mom. Make sure she eats and give her lots of love. MikeJD 0 #40 August 25, 2009 Tony, only just seen this. I'm really sorry. People who've never had pets don't 'get' it. You share so much time with them - often some of the happiest times of your life (and certainly theirs). It's a real wrench when you lose them. Be thankful that you had the opportunity to give her a loving home for all that time.
