Amtrak engineer manages to slow down to 108 MPH before impact. Amtrak engineer had 30 about seconds to think about the rest of his life. A total of 16 were killed. Conrail engineer was under the influence of marijuana and possibly watching a football game. A witness said a television was thrown into the river from one of the Conrail units.
