It's a cultural difference. Shah comes from a society where the father of the bride has to come up with a dowry to get rid of them. So, the father is motivated to guide their daughters to be easier to get along with, or he's got to come up with the extra goats.

But I was born in Tehran and I grew up here in the US and so my culture in a way is also your culture.Life through good thoughts, good words, and good deeds is necessary to ensure happiness and to keep chaos at bay. davjohns 1 #63 August 17, 2009 Did any of the ladies every come out supporting the idea that doing things for them increased their desire for the guy doing those things? I've had this theory that most women don't like nice guys that do things for them. Seems they must like guys who are egotistical and neglect them or they wouldn't keep going back to those guys. Just thought it was curious that I didn't notice any of the women advocating the nice guy route.I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
turtlespeed 226 #64 August 17, 2009 It's complicated, in so far as: You have to be a "Bad Boy" but only when the time is right. The other times yiou have to be caring and sensative and be able to listen well without trying to fix things for them, they will work it all out by themselves if they talk about it long enough. All that taken into consideration, they want you to be supportive, boith financially, and emotionally, but the catch is, it has to appear that she really doesn't want that, and that you are insisting. It goes on from there - there are a LOT of ironic stances that they take, but to sum it up - It doesn't matter what happens as long as it at least appears that the right way to do things (AKA Correct Path), even if that was not the path chosen, was her idea, life is good. I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun

It's the same with girls. You show up all peaches and cream declaring "Here I am, I am all yours!" and odds are they are going to wonder what is wrong with you regardless of how great of a guy you may or may not be. And as such, you have to play this stupid game. You have to be just short of tool to disarm their bitch shield so that they don't come across as being "easy" in front of their friends and then and only then can you slowly start showing who you are. Sick? Yes! Messed up? YES! And be worry of any woman who when asked about what she is looking for in a guy and responds "A good sense of humor." That's just a BS line that girls use to cover up being shallow. Because the only thing worse than being called easy by her friends it is being called shallow. After all if a good sense of humor was the “it” thing wouldn’t Jim Carry or Robin Williams have been voted Peoples Sexiest Man already?Life through good thoughts, good words, and good deeds is necessary to ensure happiness and to keep chaos at bay. SkyDekker 1,465 #66 August 17, 2009 The Bonfire never seizes to amaze me. Here we have a relationship thread. A guy is advocating honest and open conversation and several women are advocating using sex to get things done (I call that being a whore, but that is slightly beside the point). Only in bonfire does the guy end up being villified.....too fucking funny.....
