k-dubjumps 0 #1 August 8, 2009 I heard of someone who didn't drink paying off their beer fines with root beer floats at their DZ and this weekend I'm paying with jello shots. Sometimes I bring beer, but I'm not a beer drinker myself. If you bring beer, what kind? the good stuff, the cheap stuff, or what ever is on sale?Adrenaline is my crack DPH #3 D.S. #16 FAG #12 Muff Brother #4406

When we bring beer it is a 30 pack of Natural Lite... cheap stuff. I also pick up a 12 pack of Landshark for me and others who might want something other than the "Natty Lite".Kim Mills USPA D21696 Tandem I, AFF I and Static Line I

Hi K-W, Yer post got me ta' thinkin' Skydivers will drink just about anything ya' put in front of em'!! An old High School friend's dad told us of 2 of his neighbors that made "Home Brew Beer" back during the Depression. They got to arguin' as to who had the "Best!" So, they took samples of each, marked one "A" and the other "B" and sent them off somewhere to be tested. 'Got the letter from the testing place back and it read,"Gentlemen,..We are sorry to inform you but both of these horses have Diabetes."SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
JohnMitchell 16 #12 August 8, 2009 Quote Heinikin Is that cheaper than Heineken?A lot of our DZ likes Busch Lite, so a 30 pack of that will suffice. I'd rather pick up a case of Henry's at Costco. Much better beer, IMHO.

skydiver30960 0 #14 August 8, 2009 At Orange, all beer fines are paid in GOOD, BOTTLED beer. Humiliation awaits those who feel they can pay their beer fines in cheap canned beer. Elvisio "bring on the kicking beer!" Rodriguez

Krip 2 #18 August 9, 2009 Quote Quote Heinikin Is that cheaper than Heineken? Quote Of course Heinikin is less expensive than Heineken. Knockoff' are less expensive because their cutting corners somewhere. This time the printer screwed up the labels. But the bottles are still green, the brews cold, tastes like heine and haven't had any complaints yet. Quote A lot of our DZ likes Busch Lite, so a 30 pack of that will suffice. Quote "Back in the day" We uesd to drink Thunderbird wine chilled of course It was the wine of choice by all the wineo's in the hood and a pt of T-bird cost about the same as a bottle of Heine does today. Quote I'd rather pick up a case of Henry's at Costco. Much better beer, IMHO. Quote Thats where we get our Heini knockoffs. FWIW T bird wine is probably still available at the less exclusive liquor stores if anyone wants a cheap drunk not sure if they will want to jump the next day One Jump Wonder

Andy9o8 2 #20 August 9, 2009 Quotecase of Guiness works for me... cant stand pilsners Ugh, neither can I. My "usual" has been Sam Adams, but I've been digging Rogue Dead Guy lately. I think it's damn good. I do feel, however, that, on principle, non-alcohol drinkers shouldn't have to pay in beer, or pay into a "beer fund" (which is what some DZs have). Substitute other food and/or drink of similar value. I have an alcoholic friend who gave his rigger a gift certificate to a fancy restaurant after his last chop. (Same goes for the "bottle of booze" for the rigger who packed the reserve that saved your ass. If you don't drink alcohol, a reasonable substitute is perfectly acceptable.) Oh, FWIW, when I had my first reserve ride a long time ago (I was recently A-licensed), I gave out TWO bottles: one to the rigger, and eventually another one to my FJC instructor (at a different DZ) whose voice-in-my head I followed to save my miserable ass. Bibliophile 0 #22 August 10, 2009 So far, I have paid my beer fines with soda and bottled water, for the reasons set forth in the following thread (I don't drink): http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=3609927 In the future, I will probably also use cases of Gatorade or ice cream pops."You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him." - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
