luv2dive05 0 #1 July 27, 2005 Hi all. I am a new jumper who absolutely fell in love with skydiving. I was just wondering what do most people do after they finish their AFP progam inregards to gear. Do you rent, buy old or new. I am going to complete my AFP soon, and I know nothing about gear and what is the best to do. Also, any suggestions on what type i should get? MuffDiver 0 #2 July 27, 2005 Finish your AFP, if you have some cash left over look for a decent used rig at a good price(your instructors will be able to help you find one that is well suited for you). Once you have used this rig and are ready to move on to a new set of gear you will be able to sell it without losing a bunch of money to depreciation. Tink1717 2 #3 July 27, 2005 Ask your instructors. Most new jumpers start out with a used set of gear. They will then transition to new gear in a year or so. At least that's the pattern that I notice. But whatever you do, get guidance from your instructors or coaches.Skydivers don't knock on Death's door. They ring the bell and runaway... It really pisses him off. -The World Famous Tink.
