freefallfreak 0 #1 August 6, 2009 Hey dudes and dudettes, My two best friends and I are planning a tour of as many haunted places we can find in America. We have a couple of months yet to track it all out but need some input. I have a map of the U.S. laid out and am marking all the spots I can find where a haunted place stands but don't have very many. Where is your favorite place? It doesn't matter where it is as long as it can be reached by vehicle or at least can be reached with a minimum amount of walking. We are leaving from Atlanta and plan to head up the east coast. From there, there is no telling where we're gonna' wind up. Ya'll give me a hand with this, ya' hear? I wanna' scare the crap out of my two friends, lol. We don't care how long it takes to do the U.S. Hell, we got nothing better to do and if it takes a couple of months, so be it. And remember, the scarier it is, the better. freefallfreak 0 #3 August 6, 2009 Hon, we're going everywhere my car will take us. It doesn't matter as long as it's inside the U.S. border. Just give me the name and location of anyplace you think may scare the **** out of me and I'll love it. TripleF "Upon seeing the shadow of a pigeon, one must resist the urge to look up." angrypeppers 1 #4 August 6, 2009 Gettysburg. Just walk around the battlefield and you'll swear you hear and see things. Check out the Farnsworth House in town, or the Cashtown Inn outside of town. There's also a B&B w/in the park that served as a hospital during the battle, and supposedly has a lot of interesting things going on.Burn the land and boil the sea, You can't take the sky from me. freefallfreak 0 #8 August 6, 2009 Maybe I didn't make myself clear...this is gonna' be a road trip ALL OVER THE UNITED STATES[/RED][/B]. We're not just limiting ourselves to just the east coast. This trip is gonna' be all over the map. We got the idea a few months ago and were gonna' just try to travel route 66 from Chicago to California but it's now branched out to include ANYWHERE THERE MIGHT BE A GHOST. Ya'll keep the locations coming in. I'm marking the places on a map of the U.S. and we're gonna make it one hell of a road trip. My two buddies wives even approved of it...lol...I think they'll be glad to see us go, lol. TripleF "Upon seeing the shadow of a pigeon, one must resist the urge to look up." skymama 37 #10 August 6, 2009 St. Augustine also does Ghost Tours. It's cool to also visit the lighthouse and Fort. Plus, the Historic section makes for some mighty fine Pub crawling. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
NewGuy2005 53 #11 August 6, 2009 This is a must: Spend the night in the 1886 Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. It's famous for being haunted. Call now and make reservations and ask for "Michael's Room" or any other "active" room. Fall is a very busy time of the year, so call and make reservations. Also take the Ghost Tour of the hotel for the awful history of it's use as a scam cancer hospital years ago. The guy that ran it used to perform experiments on people. Also, the ghost tour is the only way to see the old morgue in the basement. Eureka Springs is also a very beautiful and unique town located in the Ozark Mountains. It was built in the late 1800's and has lots of Victorian buildings and houses built on the sides of the hils. It's got lots of nice places to eat and lots of art galleries. Be sure to eat at Cafe Soliel.

Remster 30 #13 August 6, 2009 I really dont believe in ghosts, but we stayed there in Jerome AZ, and they hype the haunted thing a lot. http://www.jeromegrandhotel.net/ The restaurant is overpriced IMO, instead, go there: http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&q=jerome+AZ+restaurants&fb=1&split=1&gl=us&view=text&ei=1vl6Sp7qIJGKsAPKiozyAw&sll=34.749110,-112.112375&sspn=0.006295,0.010770&latlng=10569281304193476582&sig2=uvUJjK4Cni8bgpgs5Fi4Wg&cd=5&usq=restaurants&geocode=FVBDEgIdgTtR-Q Really good, good specials, nice ambiance, and service.Remster
BillyVance 34 #14 August 6, 2009 Two places I can recommend right off the bat: Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia, reputed to be the most haunted place in the US, and one of the scariest. The Sanatorium place in Louisville, KY where hundreds of people died after a plague or something way back when. And then, you've got one place right there in your backyard - Sloss Furnaces."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
freefallfreak 0 #15 August 7, 2009 Hey Billy, Those first two were the first things on my list of places to scare the shit out of myself, lol. I knew about Sloss Furnace but haven't been there. Btw, I live about 30 minutes from you in Dadeville, not Birmingham and I'm still waiting for you to reply to the invite you sent that I replied to a few months ago. IM me..
