skittles_of_SDC 0 #2 August 5, 2009 Howard Shore also did The Aviator which had a few good songs. James Newton Howard is pretty good as well. He did King Kong, Peter Pan and The Village among others.
FlyingJ 0 #3 August 5, 2009 Have to give a shout out to Danny Elfman. He composed the scores for most of Tim Burton's films including Batman and Beetlejuice. He did both of he recent Spiderman movies. Done a bunch of TV too, most notably the theme to The Simpsons. Probably still bringing in a royalty check once in a while as the lead singer/songwriter for Oingo Boingo!Killing threads since 2004.
aresye 0 #4 August 5, 2009 I gotta give my vote to Howard Shore. The LOTR trilogy would not have been the same if it wasn't for his music. The way he composed that score is beyond me, because it's possibly one of the best movie scores ever composed. I also like Hans Zimmer's music a lot, but his music does sound very similar in a lot of his movies.Skydiving: You either learn from other's mistakes, or they'll learn from yours. AggieDave 6 #6 August 5, 2009 What about Leonard Bernstein? He kind of counts, as a few of his musicals have been made into movies. Actually, if you've heard one Zimmerman track, you've heard EVERY Zimmerman track.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
