track pants

Give some more info. Like; your number of jumps, freefall skills, what kind of track pants and perhaps even what exactly it is that you want to know- are you asking if it's possible to fly headup or headdown with them or if it's safe?

I remember the Birdman Pantz were marketed as a good tool for freeflying. Never tried them myself, but I know when I was trying my home-made smoke pants some time ago, I accidentally got into a very solid headdown a couple of times (that was way before I could hold it on my own).
For headup, I'm guessing the inlets might not work as well and although it's also a position where you should fly with your legs, I don't know if you'd actually benefit from the added surface of the pants or not.

The newer types of tracking pants (like PF and Pressurized) are, I'd say, much more of a tracking-specific tool and less allround (like BM Pantz) and if you got one of those, you're better off freeflying (or learning to) in a regular jumpsuit.

i have 241 jumps and i m new in freeflying.i have BM pantz, now when i jumping and trying to do something whitout them i can say ewerything just go well! but one jump whit them goes realy wrong when i tried to do head down, i felt in a real big rotation!!!
my question is: is it safe, or maybe i need more experience whit them and then try to do something!

Everything I've read leads me to believe that tracking pants will assist HD, but will make a sit more difficult. It seems to depend on whether you're leading with your drag [sit] or trailing with your drag [HD].
I really don't know what I'm talking about.

If you're jumping solo, taking the neccessary separation and freefall orientation precautions so you're not interfering with anyones' airspace, then I suppose it's safe. You can always recover to a more stable position if the pants try to take you for a ride.
But it sounds like the pants may be hindering your progression, not helping, although it may well be that you just need to get used to flying with them.

Consider this, though; they may be a useful learning tool, but ultimately, freeflying with the pants might become something you'll have to unlearn if you use them so much you become dependant on them.

And, as always, if you have good freefliers at your dz, ask one to jump with you some time. Direct input from more experienced people is way better than any kind of experimenting or research that you do on your own.

Mate track pants are made for tracking and not freeflying.Learn to freefly without aids cause you will not learn the correct technique and will become dependent on them and allso you cannot controll your fall rate as well.Invest in coaching jumps cause thats where the secret lies.Also learn to track without the pants and when youve grasped that then go on to the track pants.Tracking is excelent fun.Have a good one and blue skies and löng safe swoops.

I personally would never sit fly in BM pants, i have video of friends fighting the inflated legs so badly while trying to sit solid. Get a jumpsuit for learning to freefly or as i tell most people go out in shorts and a baggy jersey. just make sure you tuck the bottom in so it doesn't fly up and cover your handles.

I can tell you that I have a pair of BM pantz too.. and it is easy for me to sit fly in! But you gotta figure out how to fly them on your belly really well 1st. Head down is a challenge bc it slows me down a lot! It will make your sit slow also! Have fun!!!!!

Dito that. Those pantz don't really inflate at all in HD and present very little extra drag in sit.

I would go so far as to say that the only extra drag I'm "fighting" comes from them being a little bigger than my previous pair of freefly pants.

I wear them for nearly all jumps now.
