LongWayToFall 0 #26 March 28, 2009 Did you guys catch the sharks and predators game the other day? Staubitz opened some whoop ass on Tootoo, damn! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyU0yfGZu9g
masterrig 1 #27 March 28, 2009 I watched the game. The Preds really cleaned the Sharks clock! The Wings blew a chance tonight, to take the lead on San Jose by getting shut-out by the Islanders! The worst team in the league and they get shut-out! McDonald was absolutely amazing in net for the Isles and Detroit couldn't buy a goal! Detroit pinged the goal-post 6 or 7 times... sheesh! downwardspiral 0 #28 April 3, 2009 Wow the Ducks are firing on all cylinders now. Last night's game vs. Vancouver was awesoem albeit ugly in the first two periods. But exciting nonetheless. The Ducks showed they can come back from a 2 goal deficit twice against a head standing goalie like Luongo. Next up is the Sharks this weekend both Sat and Sun. a likely playoff preview. Nabbie's gonna have his hands full. www.FourWheelerHB.com
masterrig 1 #29 April 3, 2009 You got that right! That was a helluva game!!! The Ducks have really come on strong in the late parts of the schedule. They are the kind of team that'll sneak-up on you and bite ya' in the butt! The Ducks have come out of nowhere and beat the Red Wings in the first round, in the past. Then, you've got San Jose, who is leading over-all in the league. The way things are going, the Wings don't look too good. They need to get it together ar they don't stand much of a chance. Can I take back my prediction? Chuck
downwardspiral 0 #30 April 3, 2009 And take notice of Bobby Ryan. Very much a young Selanne that can backcheck and doesn't mind fighting. And his hitting ability?! I've seen the boy take veterans off of their skates while he's standing still. The boy is sweet and destined to be included in conversations about Ovechkin and Crosby in the future.www.FourWheelerHB.com

I think, Crosby is a bit over-rated. Ovechkin, on the other hand is damned good at what he does. Ryan is really, one to watch. He has a lot of skill and talent. Fun to watch play the game. grimmie 186 #32 April 4, 2009 I watch the Mighty Quackers practice all of the time (our police/fire beer league skates in the AM) at Anaheim Ice. Ryan is good, but he still can't outskate old man Selanne...no one on their team can. Guigure will have to stop more than a beachball for the Ducks to move up in the playoffs. And a side note...George Parros and Pronger don't look human out on the ice. Giants. Crosby over rated...put down the crack pipe dude...he would be leading the league in scoring if he wasn't out for injuries.
masterrig 1 #33 April 4, 2009 I knew, that'd get you stirred-up! I'm not saying Crosby is not good, I just think he needs a bit more 'seasoning' and for some of the hype to die-down. Leave him alone and let him play. I can't stand Pronger! the guy is really, nothing more than a goon. The 'new' hockey is about speed and finesse. You've mentioned some good names in hockey but, I really enjoy watching Zetterberg and Datsyuk on the ice... especially Datsyuk! The guy is amazing! Since he's started hitting back, he's become more 'rounded' in his game. The Wings have some hellasious players but, seem to be lacking the cohesiveness they had earlier. They really need to step it up if, they want a re-peat of last year. Chuck

downwardspiral 0 #35 April 4, 2009 I'll like Crosby more when he stops taking dives. Pronger a goon?! Hells yes he is! While Pronger isn't the guy who makes incredible plays on defense, his presence on the ice alone makes him worth his contract. Also he is a good mix with old man Niedermeyer who is absolutely amazing on D. I don't think the game is all about speed and finesse and I certainly hope it isn't going that way. Last thing I want is the NHL to turn into the NBA. www.FourWheelerHB.com
grimmie 186 #36 April 4, 2009 "Z" and 'D" in Detroit are probably the best two all around players in the world. I would like to see them play a season on the Kings to just see how really good they are. I think I could score 20 goals a year with the Wings line up.The Ducks and the visiting teams practice at www.anaheimice.com. Their practices are open to the public. During the first few years of the team we skated with the injured/scratched players in the AM. There was nothing like playing pick up hockey with Kariya, Semenov, Yake, Teverdosky, etc. The team is a little more professional these days and only skate with team mates. masterrig 1 #37 April 5, 2009 That's the direction Gary Bettman wants hockey to go! Have you noticed how the refs are calling 'everything'? Bettman wants 'plain vanilla' hockey on speed. He's an idiot! You watch though, during the play-offs... the refs will only call what they really have to. I love the play-offs!Chuck
masterrig 1 #38 April 5, 2009 The Wings have so much talent up-front but, their defense is really lacking. The Wings have very good goalies but, due to the lack of 'help' they're looking bad. Unless they step it up, I don't see the Wings getting too far in the play-offs. I had big hopes for them but, recent losses have dimmed that. murrays 0 #42 April 6, 2009 Quote I think we will see a different story tonight. I hope you're right as I like the Sharks. Not good if they wind up meeting the Ducks in the first round and the Ducks have beat them the last two times they played. {Edited to add 1-0 Ducks after the first....not a good start }-- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

masterrig 1 #50 April 10, 2009 After sizing things up, I'm going to have to say the Sharks will take Lord Stanley's Cup, this year. Along with the President's Trophy and their coach will get 'Coach of the Year'. He was a former assistant coach to Mike Babcock in Annaheim and Detroit. This is his first year as Coach. He's led the Sharks to the top of the standings. The Sharks have speed and size and ability. I really would like to see the Wings do better but, They just don't seem to have what it takes to win the 'Cup'. Chuck
