downwardspiral 0 #52 April 10, 2009 Quote After sizing things up, I'm going to have to say the Sharks will take Lord Stanley's Cup, this year. Along with the President's Trophy and their coach will get 'Coach of the Year'. He was a former assistant coach to Mike Babcock in Annaheim and Detroit. This is his first year as Coach. He's led the Sharks to the top of the standings. The Sharks have speed and size and ability. I really would like to see the Wings do better but, They just don't seem to have what it takes to win the 'Cup'. Chuck The only wasy that's going to happen is if the Sharks are lucky enough to avoid the ducks through the playoffs. www.FourWheelerHB.com

The playoff scenarios for the West are still completely up in the air...with 4 teams still in contention for 2 spots. Could easily have the Ducks and Sharks in the first round or Wings and Ducks. Or...the Ducks could conceivably wind up out of the playoffs. masterrig 1 #55 April 10, 2009 I don't know, what San Jose's record is this past season against the Ducks but, this being play-off time, anything can happen. I have to give the ducks a lot of credit but, I think, San Jose has a bit of an edge. I don't think, the Wings have a chance against either team. That's sad, too. With all the talent Detroit has. Maybe, they should have 'gooned-up' for the play-offs like San Jose and Annaheim?! Chuck Chuck

And on the flip side... the Ducks are going to want to clinch real bad. In the East we could have Habs-Bruins in the first round...a classic match-up but one destined to disappoint old Habs fans like myself. I'm just glad the Habs made it to the playoffs. For them to miss in their Centenary year would have been pretty sad.-- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

masterrig 1 #61 April 11, 2009 It might be different this year. New coach new faces on the team. Not that I'm a Sharks fan... not by a long shot. I'm just going by what they've done this season. Then too... you may be right. Play-offs is a whole different game. Chuck

My hate for them and Bobby Clarke is now in its fourth decade. I hope that I die without ever seeing them hoist the Cup again. That being said, Clarke has provided me with a couple of good laughs over the years. Most recently when he was cutting up Eric Lindros (a player I've always despised...even more than the Flyers) during their feud and a long time ago when Hockey Night in Canada introduced a "Sounds of the Game" feature that was LIVE. Bruce Hood, the referee, sent Clarke to the penalty box, the camera was on Clarke, the microphone was turned on and Clarke yelled "HOOD YOU FUCKIN QUEER!" Profuse apologies from the CBC announcers and the end of the experiment. The Sharks knew on Friday, they had the 'President's Cup', 'division title' and home ice advantage through the play-offs. The big question... how long will they last? masterrig 1 #68 April 13, 2009 Time to 'crank it up'! Looks like, The ducka are going to have a hand-full with The Sharks! That, should be a good series!!! The Wings, get The Blue Jackets! I recall a play-off series when J.S. Giguere(sp) was a very HOT rookie goalie and The Ducks, took-out The Wings in the first round. Now, The Wings are facing Mason, who is the HOT rookie goalie this year. The Jackets have given Detroit fits, all season. It don't look good for The Wings! There's some really good match-ups this year! Chuck
