QuoteQuoteThey just announced on CBC that Phoenix entered chapter 11 today and there is a bid large enough to cover all debts contingent on the team moving to southern Ontario.
Andrew, Given that Bettman said in March that the Coyotes weren't moving, they were going to find new investors..blah, blah.... I'll be surprised if this actually happens. The offer of Balsillie is contingent on the move so if the league doesn't approve it won't happen...but then what will happen to the Coyotes? Will the NHL take over..similar to the Expos/Nationals in baseball?
Well, the bankruptcy judge gets a say now. It limits the league's moves somewhat. Remember the NFL told Al Davis he couldn't move the Raiders.

Bettman will fight any move, tooth and nail! Bettman wants hockey all-over this country. Besides... what would the 'snow-birds' do without hockey in Arizona?

We'll have to wait and see while they work it out. Where in Southern Ontario would they move the team? Hamilton? Can't imagine the Leafs being happy about that. London? A bit more central. Windsor...right across the river from Detroit...can't see that either.

Kitchener makes sense to me. London is too far from the Toronto Metropolis. Kitchener is .45 mil, 1/2 hr from London (.45mil), 15 minutes from Guelph (.12mil), and 1/2hr from Hamilton (.6mil).
People keep talking about Peterborough. This makes no sense to me, but I am not really not that familliar with the geography around there.

Panger got his fanny spanked (verbally) by his 'partner, for making (bad) things up about the Detroit players! I laughed my butt-off! When Pang played for the Blackhawks, the other players in the league at that time, said Pang had a 'six-hole'... just over his head. (He only stands 5'5"!)
