fireballgrl 0 #28 July 8, 2009 Not that I watch much tv anyway, but I was disgusted today to see nothing but this "service" plastered all over every freaking station. Yes he was a talented artist, the "king of pop" blah blah... What really makes me sick to my stomach is that people are still dying over in Iraq for people to honor and cherish a twisted child molester
MikeJD 0 #29 July 8, 2009 Quote It does crack me up to read about someone "concerned about our collective sanity", who will be yelling at their TV. What, you've never yelled at your TV? I don't believe you.

And what perhaps makes you even sicker is that many don't think he's a child molester (including the US courts) - and are honoring him for his life's work instead. People are dying all over the world in horrible circumstances every day, but it doesn't stop us from engaging in the trivia of our own lives, nor should it - that's just the way things are. Regardless of what you think of him, people paying tribute to Michael Jackson are no more dishonouring the victims of the Iraq war than they would be if they were spending the day at the mall or the dropzone. fireballgrl 0 #33 July 8, 2009 Agreed, but you don't see memorial services on every station for a full day for the almost 5k of American human casualties People would be in an uproar if you cancelled their cherished tv shows for something like that
