Ok so that is a massive exaggeration but some people have a zero tolerance rule when it comes to this guy's character flaws. It's an open forum, no one has to be nice.

I have a zero tolerance policy on child molestation. I think Michael Jackson was a complete freak and I'm pretty sure he did some bad things in his life, but as for child molestation, all I *know* is that he was acquitted.

I'm not big on celebrities, but the three who passed this week brought laughter, music, dance, and fantasy into the lives of an awful lot of people. Those things are good for the human condition, and if I were the arbiter, I imagine I'd find that all brought far more happiness to this world than sadness. That doesn't excuse all their wrongs, but I don't think a perspective that excludes them is particularly fair.

Jackson made some pretty good records when he was younger and all his work for charities was at the time greatly appreciated.

But I'm thinking the other way around:

Don't let the good things he did when he was younger colour your opinion of him - the evils of his later life were much greater. Even if only one single accusation of child molesting is true, that is more than enough to undo any and all of the 'good' things he has/may have done.
He was a celebrity - that doesn't (or rather SHOULDN'T) mean he can do as he pleases!
