My top three favorites: Dogfish Head or Victory or Oskar Blues I just opened a bottle of it a few minutes ago. I tried one of dogfish head's 120-minute IPA's a few weeks ago - and I'm not a big fan of IPAs. I think my mouth was numb after a few sips of it. MikeRMontagne 0 #9 June 27, 2009 OLY, Olympia Beer from Olympia ,Washington State- was the "in beer" circa1974 up here in the Pacific N.W.. That before A/B bought it out and turned it into the what-ever it is they felt like. OLY had it's own unique flavor, and even A/Bs Canadian Subsidiary tried to "revive" But it came out tasting like all Canadian beers do. Yeah our beer may boast a higher alcohol content B.F.D.!, if you can't tell one beer from Brewery to another across the country, stick with Bourbon (something else lost on Canadian's- love Ur bourbon, Rye, "gag") But U.S. beers all seem to had their own distinctive flavour, and so what if I have to drink more to get a buzz, more time to socialize!Be Brave, embrace the fear, even if your not, pretend to be. justinb138 0 #10 June 27, 2009 Ever had anything from Unibroue? Wonderful Canadian beer. I really like the Don De Dieu and La Fin Du Monde that they make. And with many of the craft breweries you find a higher abv than most mass-produced stuff ("The Beast" that I mentioned above from Avery is 16.4%abv - and you still can't taste much of the alcohol in it). MikeRMontagne 0 #11 June 27, 2009 That beer called the "beast" 16.4%, as soon as can get to a L.D.B. (liqour Distribution Branch) I'll inquire, they're pretty got about bringing in new beer's. The system seem archaic, but LDB staff are very open minded, hey they've even brought in an Indian beer. This after I tried one at an East Indian restraunt that I thought was a great beer. ThanksBe Brave, embrace the fear, even if your not, pretend to be. No one can tell the difference
lawrocket 3 #12 June 27, 2009 Avery is great. I'm part of a "Collaborative Practice" group. I surprised them at a meeting with a few bottles of Collaboration Not Litigation Ale. They wondered where I found it. I told them I like beer. They got a kick out of it. And, it is excellent stuff! My wife is hotter than your wife.
