Collapsed Slider Opening

They get paid according to how many rigs they pack. Unless its a REALLY slow day you can bet that the thing is not going to be packed half as carefully as if you did it yourself.

You are wrong. Packing fast does not mean that would be careless.B|

No. I'm not wrong.

There isnt a professional packer on earth that will pack MY rig with as much care and attention to detail as I use when I pack MY rig.

This belief is supported 100% by the % of less than perfect openings I experience when its been packed by a packer compared to when I pack it myself.

Also, "not packed half as carefully" is not the same thing as "careless"

Your choice: your money vs your time and efforts.

I don't have to pack. I can pack if i want to and if I'm asked so.;);)

You are assuming care and attention to detail affect the opening.

Pretty damn good "assumption"...IME.
My reality and yours are quite different.
I think we're all Bozos on this bus.

Ah. Well, that's the difference then. Drop it off without cocking the PC and you will annoy _our_ packers.

Seriously? If I Cock my PC before shaking it out, or any other time before laying it on the ground it tends to uncock somewhat or all the way... I understand setting the brakes and for your own piece of mind/safety uncollapsing the slider, but expecting the PC to be cocked is flat out lazy packing

Well, you could say the same about a packer who wants you to unkill the slider, or stow the brakes. Generally I try to prep the canopy as much as possible to help out with the kind of packjob volumes we see on the weekends, and that includes all of the above (and also sometimes includes getting to the burrito phase if time permits.)

Again, every packer is different, so it pays to talk to them to see what they expect (and what you are willing to do.) I haven't found a packer yet that gets annoyed by customers who stow brakes/unkill sliders/cock PC's, but from what people say here, they must exist.

Show me a packer that doesn't want the brakes stowed and the slider opened. :S

Regarding the PC, you haven't found one that complains or makes an issue of it. That's not the same as not getting annoyed. You might have a hard time finding a waiter or other service individual complain to the customer about little things. It's counterproductive to gripe to the customer in any field.

IME, packers will give suggestions or outright requests, if you don't ask . . . and they will charge extra, for the brakes & slider thing. It's a time thing.

And why are you latching onto this insignificant datum when there are actual points in this thread to discuss?
