bwilling 0 #27 August 24, 2005 QuoteIts nice to actually read something usefull to the cause and not a bunch of negativity. If he had offered up facts like these in his initial post... QuoteCool thanks. So for I have flown a Nav (210,200,190) an old Sabre 2 ( very worn 190), and a Spectre 190. So far I liked the Spectre 190 the most. instead of comments like these... QuoteI would like a canopy that can turn hard and ground hungry when I want it to be. he would have received a better response from the beginning... people here really do want to help, but the trolls wear them thin after a while. And it was hard to tell from his initial post and the lack of facts given whether he really wanted help, or was just trolling. woodpecker 0 #28 August 24, 2005 Noted, We are both very new to this forum and are still learning the ins and outs. Hell, I didnt even have my profile updated so no one even knew my jump history to give advice. Just took some one telling me it would make questions easier to answer. Thanks for moving us one more step closer. We will try to do better with the initial question.SONIC WOODY #146 There is a fine line between cockiness and confidence -- which side of the line are you on? mattjw916 2 #29 August 24, 2005 The only way you will know what canopy is good for you, is to demo. In the end, it's the pilot not the canopy that does the flying. I'm not terribly picky about my canopies personally. I'd just stay away from the original Sabre. While I know people who jump them and are happy with them, there are more modern designs out there IMHO that aren't as packing-sensitive. Whatever you buy, take the time to learn how to fly it.NSCR-2376, SCR-15080
sd-slider 0 #30 August 25, 2005 I started on a used Triathlon 260 with ~300 jumps on er' . I was impressed with the response during turns (toggle & riser). I was also impressed with the forward speed and glide which was accented by the awesome flare/braking ability once it was time to touch down. I don't have significant #'s or experience on ANY canopy. I just know that switching from the student 260 to the Tri was good choice for me. Check with all of the vendors you mentioned and demo each one. Then you can make a decision based upon YOUR experiences. There's half a dozen Tri flyers @ my DZ and everyone loves the versatility that comes with em' . BTW I'm ~280 @ the do!Anvil Brother #69 Sidelined with a 5mm C5-C6 herniated disk... Back2Back slammers and 40yr old fat guys don't mix!
