Chainsaw meets knee

Recommended Posts

The product of a kickback while limbing large limbs from a tree in my yard... first chainsaw injury I have ever had in over 40 years using the things...

Amazing how fast it chewed thru my jeans then my knee...[:/]

I should have taken pictures when it was wide open.. and the nurse was digging wood chips out... and feeling the groove in myf kneecap that is now there.

Good thing it was not running full out... this sucka hurts..... even with the good drugs..:|

Well this one is gonna be a hell of a scar.. not the nice cosmetic one I have on my other knee from the removal of my medial meniscus... that one was an Air Farce doc who was getting out in 6 months and was really glad to practice his skills for later in civilian life.

Funny you should mention Germans...Its a Stihl 034 with
a 30"bar and I just sharpened it too..

Thank god it wasn't a Husqvarna then (Swedish manufacturer) :P

But yeah... That's what German stuff will cause you...
You can never go wrong when blaming something on the Germans :D

Trying to be a bit more careful in the future, right??? :)

Maybe its time to buy some chainsaw chaps, so we don't have to change your name from Amazon to Stumpy?

I'm glad you're basically ok this time around!

I have a set.... I usually use them when I am bucking some larger timber..but this was all just cleanup.... nothing more than4" in diameter...

Good grief woman!! I can tell you that you do not want to go limbless...no...just say no. :P Keep the leg! ;)

:D

So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life
Make light!

:(sorry bout that- I have the Stihl farm boss and it's easy to loose respect for the thing once in a while...your story is a good wakeup call for everyone at least. it seems that branch cleanup is the most dangerous & I have to always remember to click the brake when moving around.

feel better soon:)

Yup....branch 'clean up' is the worst because you're moving quick and swing the saw around fast.

For me it's chaps, glasses & earplugs before I pull the start handle.

Heal fast Zon.

...I'm glad yer not going ' total look' with the Pirate costume next Halloween! ;)
