banesanura 1 #1 April 20, 2009 What are the rules? If any? Obviously you aren't going to let your SO jump an outdated reserve and a canopy too small or a harness thats WAY too big... But lets say everything is about the same size...would you let your SO borrow it? Some people have no problem loaning their gear to other jumpers what about an SO?Best Girl Scout Ever. vskydiver 0 #3 April 20, 2009 I think if my SO could fit into my rig I probably wouldn't be with him. A guy that could fit into my rig with no problems is going to be WAY too small. I kind of go for the tall dark handsome muscular.... But your question -- If he could ... would I? Of course! He's my SO, I'd share anything with him. (and do!) What's mine is his. BillyVance 34 #6 April 20, 2009 I have loaned my 2nd rig to a few people who needed something to jump because of a cutaway or else and I knew them well enough to know they wouldn't screw me. If my SO was a skydiver and she could jump my rig safely, sure no problem. Banesanura, I've got a rig sitting in my closet not being used. It's an all-black with green trim Vector II and a Swift 175 reserve. It does not have an aad and the reserve is out of date. It could be a good starter rig with a cypres installed and a 170 main will fit in it just fine. The harness was resized to fit me when I bought it used, and we're about the same size, so it should fit you just fine."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban

Bolas 5 #18 April 20, 2009 I borrowed an SO's rig once. I got drug across the Tarmac in high winds in it. I may not be tall, dark, handsome, or muscular, but I'm an awful lot bigger than Muttley, and I've jumped her rig. rehmwa 2 #24 April 20, 2009 Moot point for me, she's not ready for my canopy. But other than that? Of course, we can share each other's rigs. I trust her pack jobs and her gear maintenance and she does mine too. Would you be married to someone you didn't respect enough to do those very simple things? Wouldn't you look out for each other enough to KNOW they are doing those thing correctly? seems simple to me - and ultimately selfish to not for spouses as for SO's? that's NOT the same, no sharing ...
