Bank Robbery: Hypothetical question.

Recommended Posts

If you had atleast 75% chance of getting away, good planning and were well armed. Would you ever commit a robbery knowing you could get a large amount of money just to see what the rush was like? (Bank, Armored car etc)

Now the FBI will be watching me for asking...

The FBI already watch this website. FBI agent Larry Carr (username ckret) deals with bank robberies http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2003661713_safecatch11m.html :P

If you walk in the front doors of a bank, no matter how good your plan is and how well armed you are, your chances of getting away with it completely will always be very low. It may take time but they eventually find you. The smart people who rob banks don't walk in through the doors.;)

There are other means out there that are legal, If it's the rush you're after. Robbing a bank for the rush is a bad idea ,especially if you enjoy your freedom.

i was gonna vote option 3.. but that could be construed as a P A ... and so i wouldn't EVER go there.

so i vote NO....

especially since you mention "well armed"..

THAT aspect alone, puts you into a deeper category of TROUBLE,, and God forbid,, if something stupid happened,,,
Then you wind up in some FEDeral.. penitentiary and your New Rush... will be simply " stayin' alive"...[:/]:|:o:(

Now a well thought out Armored car takedown....
THAT could be fun...;)B|

as mentioned earlier in this thread.. Why rob a bank "over the counter",, when all you need to do, Is put on a 3 piece Suit, apply and secure a JOB there,,, and then just wait for the annual Upper management, scraping of the cream,,,,, off the top of the books.... as OUR money,, becomes Their Money...
THEN,, just apply for a govt. bail out...:S:P;)

Mo' Money Mo' Money Mo' Money !!!!!!!

I second Lou Diamond. The smart people who rob banks don't walk through the doors. A bank robber may walk out with $5k - MAYBE - and face a lengthy sentence in a federal or state pound-in-the-ass can.

Meanwhile, a person may lift $100k through check fraud and face little incarceration, probation and restitution.

Never "rob" a bank.

Of course I would. We South Africans have turned armoured car robberies into a national sport:P

We had a 'classic' outside Paarl 2 weeks ago.

Armed guards were re-stocking an ATM & while they were busy, a car stopped, 2 guys got out , lifted a moneybag with R100,000.00 and drove off. The guards didn't notice until a witness informed them of the fact.

They've still not been caught...

Just goes to show - any qualification above 8th grade DISqualifies you from working as a security guard in SA :D
A VERY MERRY UNBIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!

Hi Tuna,

Back in the 60's there was a jumper in New England who would go into banks, grab a Deposit Slip and write on the back 'This is a stickup. Give me all of your money' and then put the slip back in the stack of Deposit Slips.

I don't know if any unsuspecting customer actually got nabbed. :P
