F*ck the weather!

Recommended Posts

I've been saving up for my big shopping trip to Mall of America for like 2 1/2 weeks now. Took the day off work, was planning on leaving tomorrow am and spending the whole day in Minneapolis. And then, the weather. HUGE snowstorm expected to dump 12-14 inches of snow, with freezing rain and blustery winds followed by brutally cold temperatures. >:(>:(
This trip was to be my stress relief after weeks of hell and finding out I lost out on 2 jobs in one shot and trying to deal with the 6 month anniversary of my mom's death. Retail therapy is my solution for everything and the weather is putting a damper on this! >:(:(
Ok I'm done ranting.

I just don't get how it can go from nice, sunny 30 degrees (pretty good for MN) to full blown blizzard up to 14 inches!!! I guess after 27 yrs though I should get it...:S

we were in the high 40's earlier this week....now in low 20's with 6 inches of snow today....suppose to be as low as 0 for us tomorrow....if that groundhog pokes out his head....he is going to get a snowball in his face >:(>:(>:(>:(>:(

Just rent a nice big 4x4 for a few days and go:)

i agree. we live in the desert, east of Los Angeles, and got 18 inches awhile ago. We have a jeep cherokee, and it had no problem in the snow. 12-14 inches is nothing. buck up, find a way, you will be happy you did.

Just saw the weather forecast this evening. Looks like the highs for the next 7 days are going to swing between 80 and 82. The lows at night are about 60 and increasing to 65 by the weekend.B| White puffys all over the place. No precip. What is this "snow" you speak of. Sounds like fun!

Hey! I was going to send you a message and tell you I was coming down, but now I'm not. :( I'm not going to risk making the trip there and back. I don't think you are supposed to get hit as hard as we are here, so it would mainly be the making it back part and I work early on Wed. So....hopefully next week!

Keep me posted! My schedule is fairly flexible! People are telling me spring is just around the corner, but, I don't believe them.
Fortunately, I'm adhering to a pretty strict, uh, drug, uh, regimen to keep my mind, you know, uh, limber.

No doubt - in the last hour, we went from 40 degrees and drizzle to 30 degrees and what looks like an explosion in a feather factory!!!

WTF???

It's called SNOW.... Mikeee

Yup yup... we got about 4 feet worth a few weeks ago, right after the new rotation showed up...temps were only in the mid-20's, and those Cali troops were bundled up like they were deployed to Antartica instead of Kosovo...can't wait to see the looks on their faces in the morning as they come in to work!! :D:D:D

Hell its even snowing here in Seattle... My poor little Crocus flowers look so forlorn in the snow...[:/]

And I have Daffodills ready to open any day. It was over 60 F just a few days ago.

I have a contractor coming at the end of the week to replace my 24 year old Earth Stove ( woodstove ) with a newer far more efficient model.. there goes another 3 grand out the front door:ph34r:

Damn...3k for a wood stove?? Ouch!!!

No its for the whole thing.

Stove.... pipes ..box thru the roof... flashing.. and the stack with cover.. plus the installation.

It really is needed out here in the boonies when the wind storms come thru and knock down trees into the powerlines. It sucks being the last house on the end of the powerline.

The old one did not regulate heat well.. uses too much wood.. is not efficient.. and the old stack and vents are rusted out... time for the new one.....

BUT... it is a verry nice stove with a glass door so I can do that whole "ambiance" thing;)

They say that Minnesota has only 3 seasons.
Winter, extreme winter, and road construction. ;)

Last weekend, I was able to wear my Tevas while
jumping. Winter was a terrible 3 weeks (I hate wearing socks).
:D

Yup that sounds about right! :D I've been wearing shoes into work and then flip flops at work for the past 3 weeks now! I hate wearing shoes/socks too!

I got lucky, I caught mine on fire so the insurance paid for it. I found out that the wood burner wasn't installed according to code. The woodburner and the oil furnace shared the same chimney, it's not a good idea.

That is why I am replacing this one... I clean my chimny at least 3 times every winter... just to make sure... that is why I KNOW just how bad this system is.[:/]

THIS way.. having it done.. it meets all the regs and I dont have to worry about burning my house down
