happythoughts 0 #1 March 9, 2009 Safety Day is coming up this weekend. Stuff is planned everywhere. I hope you get involved. Well... I'll tell you how you get to be the official Safety Dork. Last weekend, there were some little honeys running around and I was perusing the menu. There was one one in black pants and a white t-shirt and I could see a tiny bit of the interesting middle parts. That was because, her t-shirt wasn't tucked in her pants. It didn't go all the way to her waist. It was loose enough for the wind to grab it. I asked her that if she was going to sit-fly and she said yes. I then told her that the shirt would come up over her handles and it was dangerous. Without exposing anything, I pull the bottom of her shirt over her cutaway/reserve handles and showed her. I explained how if bad things were happening, and the dirt was approaching, she wouldn't have time to hunt around, or fix stuff. I don't know if she did anything about it, but all you can do is try. Andy told her that I was checking out her boobs. (...and nice they were) Here is the part that bothers me... When people are doing scary stuff, it irritates me that nobody says anything. I can understand if she is new and all her friends are in the same boat. However, shame on you experienced people. I hope that she changed shirts. I certainly wish I knew. I also hope that she will pass along that information if she sees a friend doing that. If I am in the boarding area, I am looking at gear. Everyones. Cheststraps, handles, flaps, everything. At the end of the day, I am looking at the sweater monkeys, No doubt. If someone gets hurt, or worse, you will feel like crap forever because you could have said something. People need to take better care of each other.

happythoughts 0 #3 March 9, 2009 If wind comes over an object before it gets to a windsock, it can give you an incorrect message. Tall palm trees are up in the clean air. As Cocheese mentioned, a nice tall flag pole with a large flag can be good too. Easy to find from a few hundred feet up, in the event of a wind direction/speed change that you want to know about. Is this the real Bill or a damaged imitation? For the rest of you...the Andy of which he speaks was not me...although it could have been. Again for the rest of you................ Take your safety to heart and pass it on to the next generation. My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus. It always seems like someone is making last-years mistake again this year. It is tiring and unhappy.

I'm a catch-and-release kind of guy anyway. Anything that moves me towards marriage is a bad idea for everyone involved. ...besides, I am absolutely sure that I am not in the dating-target audience for this young lady. Rarely, it will happen that I am just chatting with them solely for their benefit. She was very sweet about standing there and listening to the old guy. airtwardo 7 #9 March 10, 2009 I asked the lady across from me in the Otter yesterday if her reserve handle was seated all the way, it didn't appear to be...she checked it and thanked me. Next thing I knew everyone on board was giving gear checks...it was nice to see. ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~
