Suki update

Recommended Posts

I know it has taken a while for me to post this, but here it goes!

Suki came home with me on the Sunday, January 17th. We had a 3hour ride home in which she, and Emma, slept most of the way. When we got home, she had a blast sniffing around, exploring the yard, and meeting the cats.

In the first week, I took her to the vet to start on her puppy shots. She did great, and actually feel asleep at my feet when we were waiting on the Dr. to come in. They seem to think that she is a pit mix and I have been getting the same thing from pretty much everyone that sees her (the spots are typical of that bread). They estimated her to be 8-9 weeks old, but I found out at the second visit that it was more like 10-11 weeks. This puts her birthday around the beginning of November 08.

I have been bringing miss Suki to the office with me since I live 30 mins away from the house to make sure she is being potty trained. The people here fell in love with her right away, and she stays in my office area, eating paper, pine cones, and treats when she is not passed out in my chair. :P

She found out how much fun it is to chase butterflies, bite dandelions (which make her sneeze), and learned very quick to avoid the cactus plant in the front yard. B| In the first week she was learning how to sit, and went to the dog park for the first time! She is such a smart dog...and looks right at you when your talking to her.

Week two, suki was doing much better at the potty training, and getting more confident at the dog park. I would usually take her there for lunch or just after I get off work. There is a pit mix, named Franklin, who loves to roll around in the dirt with her. Most of the time when I get her out of there she is filthy with dog slober and sand.....So, Suki got her first bath.

In week two, Emma had finally warmed up to her a little more, and Suki was teaching Emma to play like a real dog. They love to go on walks and when I took Suki off the leash, she would run right next to Emma and follow her everywhere. They have since then become really good buddies.

While I was away on vacation, my friend Karen, took care of Suki. We call her place Camp Karen, since she has 7 cats, a dog, and a bunny. There is one cat in particular that Suki loves, her name is cookie and she takes the abuse much better than my cats.

Okay...more to come later on the last few weeks! Enjoy the pics!

Your welcome. Sorry it took so long...but I have been taking a ton of pictures to keep up with her progress!! People look at me crazy when they see how many pictures I have of her doing cute things. :S:D

I am glad to hear that Saika is doing better. Can't wait to visit with you when we get up there for St Patties day! :)

THANK YOU!

That made my day.

Your very welcome...Oh, and I LOVE the name!! You made a great choice.

By definition:

Suki is listed in the Japanese-English dictionary as "to be fond of, love, prefer, care for"

and the funny one....

Sukiyaki- a Japanese beef dish usually containing soy sauce, bean curd, and greens, often cooked over direct heat at the table. :D:D This is what I call her when she gets to wild or starts to take off! :P:D
