That's what I learnedd to ride on was a dirt bike, another good one to learn on would be a honda rebel or a shadow spririt.

well thanks everyone for your help and thoughts, after talking to squeak and his wife this weekend i have decided on just getting something nice and easy to ride like a ducati 999, i think thats what squeak told me to get. said it will be perfect for learning on =D

Cool! And, I'd like to be there with my video camera when you start to ride. That type of footage is priceless. Califoria is a long ride from here, but it might be worth it. Nice idea Squek! Alway good to know who your true friends are.
