Who's cooking? Whatcha makin'?

I'm going to make this and take it to the dz. YUM :)
From Biker Billy's Roadhouse cookbook.
Susquehanna Beef Stew

Ingredients
2 ½ pounds boneless beef chuck, trimmed of any large pieces of fat and cut into 1 ½ inch cubes
6 tablespoons (¾ stick) unsalted butter
2 ½ pounds yellow onions (about 5), quartered
2 pounds carrots, peeled and cut into 2-inch pieces
2 ½ pounds boiling potatoes, peeled and cubed
5 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons black pepper
2 bottles Appalachian Brewing Company Susquehanna Stout or other suitable stout

Directions
Preheat oven to 450°F.

Put butter in hot pan and brown beef.
Toss all ingredients except beer into a large ovenproof casserole dish.
Pour beer over stew, cover, and cook until the meat is very tender, the potatoes are breaking apart, and the beer is absorbed, about 2 hours.
Remove from oven and deglaze the casserole by pouring ½ cup of water over the stew.
Transfer stew to serving bowls and enjoy.

Makes 6 servings
Be yourself!

Actually that does look tasty...

I haven't watched the superbowl (at least live) for a couple of years...

for the last couple of years I've had free tickets to see plays... last year I got to go to the musical Chicago.

And this year I've got another one... but i don't recall what it is at the moment...

My parents usually leave them for me since they're out of town in Casa Grande, AZ during this time of year...

Besides I really only watch the superbowl for the comercials... :D

Excellent - assuming you're taking it to Elsinore I can try it out this weekend. :)
As for me, this recipe is pretty tasty. Since I'm not going to be at home for this year's super bowl, no plans to cook, but I've made this one before:

BBQ Meatballs:

* 3 pounds frozen meatballs
* 2 medium onions, cut in wedges
* 1 bottle beer, 12 ounces
* 1 1/2 cups ketchup
* 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
* 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
* 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
* 1/4 cup brown sugar

PREPARATION:
Combine all ingredients in the slow cooker. Cover and cook on low 8 to 12 hours.

About 96 meatballs, but this recipe is easy to cut in half. Also, you
can use your own homemade meatballs, first browned in oven or skillet.
