TEXX56 0 #2 January 17, 2009 you know it could just mean the end of the world as we know it i.e. and of an era... or well maybe it is the end of the world
LongWayToFall 0 #3 January 17, 2009 I don't even know what you are talking bout. However, any end of the world scheme HAS to be justified, even if only slightly

Tuna-Salad 0 #6 January 17, 2009 I say we're fucked just by the general downturn of society. Really it has little to do with the "world ending". When dropzones start letting people like virgin burner jump unsupervised it concerns me about the general welfare of the world as a whole.Millions of my potential children died on your daughters' face last night. virgin-burner 1 #7 January 17, 2009 thanks, josh, that my jumping had so much to do with society as a whole, i never could of imagined! it honours not only my person, but my jumping in general! i think i'm up to something much greater than all of you bunch could have imagined. see you at the world-cup! “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. Halfpastniner 0 #9 January 17, 2009 True but now we have global warming (or is it cooling now?) jakee 1,498 #10 January 17, 2009 QuoteWhat's your take on this whole 2012 thing? Thought up by paranoid conspiracy theorists, peddled by con-artists and believed by idiots. Stems from a misunderstanding of the nature of the Mayan calendar, continues with the attribution of magical knowledge to ancient civilisations, and gets certifiably crazy with a whole new branch of pseudo_science astronomy to "explain" why 2012 really will bring the end of the world.Do you want to have an ideagasm? FallloutboyDAoC 0 #12 January 17, 2009 http://www.alignment2012.com/whatisGA.htm 2012 is just a coincidental date between the mayans calender and other predictions. The sun is supposed to move through the galactic equator (center of the galaxy). But calculations say that this has already happened in 1998. There is a +/- 18 year period where the sun is still somewhat in the center, but not exactly in the center. So anything that wouldve happened because of this would have already happened. This happens once every 26,000 years. fanya 3 #13 January 18, 2009 its the end of the mayan calender the crazys say its the end of the world. if you look into it most people translate the ancient text as the end of an era, you could read that as many things, I personally believe it will be the start of a massive collective shift of thought towards a better world (a la a bit hippie style, I hope at least)

QuoteI personally believe it will be the start of a massive collective shift of thought towards a better world Why? maybe believe is the wrong word, i should replace that with hope. im on my phone atm but that hope stems from a video I saw on ted.com about a social thought timeline (for lack of a better phrase atm) that if you accept what he has been saying has been coming around for ages. that most recent phase that happened according to was in the 50/60s during the social change that went on id find a link for ya but my phone would shit if I went to that website. its another one of the millions of theorys out there but i tryto look on the positive side of things. I personally hope that its a change away from consumerism, commercialism and the love of money to more important things in life *steps down off his hippie box*
