How the actions of one person affect so many

Recommended Posts

Today i learnt that a person in school was on life support after a car crash. I am not here to talk about the incident or any of the deatils but to say one thing. How many of you think of how your actions afect others? Do you ever stop to think that maybe it could affect hundrerds of people? Changing there lives in just a split second? Have you ever wondered what your world would be like if you were gone? how would they react? what ever you imagined is wrong becasue death is like the ocean its deep and dark and bigger than all of us. and the pain it brings is like a theif in the night. Quiet. Persistant. Unfair. Diminished by time and love. I did not really knwo this person we just spoke a few times at school yet i can see how there absence has affected those around them.

In a sense its amazing to see how far a person reaches, just how many do you know you right now?

life is full of what ifs.... But right now all i know for sure is that forever more i will think how the actions of one person affect so many others. The switch is off now and that person is gone but their memory will live on in the hearts of there friends and family but also in the mind of the person who in one split second destroyed not only one life but affected hundreds.

Nicely stated..... and so true.

But even if that one person touched so many others, the sun doesn't stop rising. The world doesn't pause. The time continues on even without . . . .

Four years from now, who will be remembering that person still? Will there still be flowers and tears to mark the passing or will all but a handful have "moved on." Even the most famous get forgotten.... there wasn't a thread for Elvis' Birthday last week [:/]

I have personal seen it from the injureds end, the way people looked at me, the doctors, nurses EMT's. my family when they were brought into the ER to see me, the doctor not at all upbeat as I was going into surgery. all I could do was think about what would happen to all of my loved ones if I didn't make it. pretty sobering shit. funny how we avoid thoughts like this until it stares us right in the eye. we sometimes joke about this but I think thats just a way of avoiding the truth.
Experience is a difficult teacher, she gives you the test first and the lesson afterward

Forgetting someone doesn't necessarily mean they don't still live on... my grandmother and grandfather may be forgotten some day (just as Elvis probably will someday) but that doesn't mean that the things they taught me won't live on in my children or my children's children... becasue I have picked up and cultivated some of their traits...
Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
